No chance, we already have TAMU. It's all about the footprint.
Yeah they have Texas for television. And since most believe Texas and Oklahoma are conjoined at hip going to a conference. Oklahoma State would be the option if you want in that state. And im not sure stillwater brings the same tv sets as Norman.

There are days when I think Vols should probably get out of the SEC. I don't think the administration is ever going to allow the UTAD to do what needs to be done to get back on top of the, conference.

Occasionally in the NCAA EA sports game while i always started dynasty mode with wirst team in game. I would put Tennessee in the Big 10 or ACC so the game wouldnt let them continue to be pummelled in SEC. Lol

I thought OU and OK State were joined at the hip last time. And someone mentioned OU running that conference and they do on the field but I think Texas carries the same weight as OU behind the scenes. I don’t see the Big 12 busting up right now. They’ve been in the playoffs and had the Heisman winner 2 years straight and Texas is on the way back up. I don’t see them adding anyone either before next year. Last time that came up the other members voted no because it made zero financial sense to add anyone. I believe that conference and the members are pretty happy with things the way they are currently.

Texas doesn't carry as much weight as they used to.

Sure they do. With no A&M in the conference you could argue they carry more weight now. It isn’t always about success in the field. Texas carries just as much weight with the Big 12 as OU. That’s why they’re allowed to have their own network and still share in the conference revenue.

You understand I work with OU?

Trust me, they are what Texas was 10 years ago in terms of Big 12 behind the scenes influence.

Well of course not! Why would I understand that without you telling me? But fair enough. You are obviously closer to the situation than I am but “work with” can encompass a wide range of occupations so it doesn’t necessarily mean you have some initiate knowledge of how Texas is thought of by the Big 12 commissioner and who holds the power when things get political. You are insinuating you do due to your profession and that’s very possible but it really doesn’t matter. Anyway, I have attended a game at OU. Great people there. It was Fresno St back around 2003 (give or take a year). OU returned like 3 kicks for TDs and just missed a 4th.

Neither OU nor Texas are hurting for money. I'm not sure about Texas, but I know for a fact all OU Athletics is self funded and receives no contributions from the State.

Regardless, OU is the primary reason they didn't expand a couple of years ago when they had the chance. They're "committed" to the Big 12, at least they were under Dave Boren. Things could change though.

If college football were 1960s TV comedy shows, University of Texas is the Beverly Hillbillies. OU is a distant second, and I mean distant, to Texas. I cant see either of them leaving anytime soon.
