Our best shot at getting Gameday this year?

problem is we've played uga tough 3 years in a row. they will be looking to destroy us this year. especially early in the season. we have to play our best game.

Amen. This game is almost always close. I don't think UGA will ever take UT lightly again, no matter the rankings. Good luck, 'cept for that one Sat!

UGA could lose to Clemson, USC could lose to A&M, leading to both teams being 1-1. Doubt gameday would go there if that were the case.

That's pretty much the only scenario to take Gameday off that game, so I highly doubt they'll be in Norman.

Gameday would still pick the UGA/USC game if they were both 1-1 and rightfully so.

My guess is the Florida game but that didn't go so well last time.

Checking the week 3 schedule, here's the good matchups I can see:

UGA-USCjr (SEC match which could start the East race)
UCLA-Texas (UCLA is on the rise, Texas w/ new coach)
UT-OU (SEC vs Stoops SEC trash talking)

Maybe USC-Boston College (televised on ESPN so maybe)

I'll take a 1 in 3 or 4 chance.

Would not be terribly surprised if they came for AL because of the Kiffey angle. ESPN would love to rub our noses in that! :banghead2:

.

I think they'd love to rub Kiffin's nose. Lane got a lot of deserved bad press when he flew west. I'd bet they'd hope for us to upset so they'd have that angle.

Look up what happened to both of those teams following that game. It will make you never want to see your team on Gameday ever again.

You're gonna have to help me out. Aside from vandy winning, I'm not sure what you're referring to.

What happened? I Googled for just a few minutes and didn't see anything. I don't have the motivation to look deeper. Hahah

Vandy was 5-0 after beating Auburn. They then lost 4 straight, including a homecoming loss to a Duke team that finished 4-8. After squeaking by Kentucky to become bowl eligible, the Dores lost their next 2, including to a Tennessee team that had already fired their coach.

Auburn was 4-2 after the loss to Vandy. From there on out, their only win for the rest of the season was over UT-Martin. After being shut out by Bama, 36-0, the Tigers finished 5-7 and fired Tuberville.

Ahhh I see.

Come to think of it, our season nosedived after gameday was in Knoxville for the florida game a few years back. Too bad we can't blame that one on Gameday.

So, you're saying some sort of a "Gameday Curse". I get it, and I kinda agree.

I remember when Gameday came to UT for the Florida game when Drools was here in 2012. I think that was a result of all the trash talking and the hype over the whole "please do not tear down the goal posts when we beat Florida". Then we got stomped and we know how the rest of the season went.

I think gameday will be at the UGA vs SC game that week we are in Oklahoma.

If Tennessee is impressive in the first two games, The Oklahoma game is possible. I say that because the game is nationally televised in Prime time. If we hang with them and don't get boat raced in Norman, the UF game more likely. If we shock the world and beat the Sooners, I say the Florida game is a certainty.

Wasn't USF ranked #1 in the 1st BCS poll that season as well? Very odd season, indeed.
