Our big donors will buy an Oline for 2025.

Good-great OL guys don’t usually transfer. OU brought in a new OL. How did that work out? Tenn has brought in 3 OTs (Mincey, Campbell & Heard) & has one of the best NIL programs in the country.

Way too early to say Heard is a failure.

Campbell was good for us when he was healthy. Unfortunately he can’t stay healthy.

The silver lining from having our oline exposed is this.
Our big money NIL people are going to say….”We messed up with Heard. But we know to reach the playoffs with Nico in 2025 that he must have David Sanders and a bunch of new first teamer Power Five olinemen that we will buy. Find them and tell us What will that cost?”
Didn’t we recently lose a 5* to Oregon? Where’s the big donors in that scenario?

I’d rather those big donors pay up to bring in an OL coach that can develop players. 14- 4* bluechip linemen were recruited to Tennessee in the last 3 years. Not one developed into a starter… That has to change…

Meaningless unless we can find a championship-level OL coach.

Haslams buy entire team they so chose but so could all SEC and BIG 10 schools. Everyone has a billionaire on their roster , might as well say that.

With the obvious miss on Heard, WHO are you suggesting to "Find Them"?

Perhaps, but it's starting to appear that any offensive transfer is going to need a year to get accustomed to our scheme and pace. Kinda makes me wonder if it's worth it? Took Thornton time. Brazzell isn't exactly lighting up opposing defenses and Heard seems to be in need of some heavy caffeine or much better conditioning. I'm starting to see NIL transfers in much the same light as JUCO kids. Hit or miss and potential issues.

Some (most?) top O Linemen aren't going to sign up for all that running...........

Better buy some D lineman too. That unit will not be nearly as good next year. Think that’s what pissed us off about being exposed. This was our shot. On paper we do not look as good next year as we do this year, and that’s scary.

Ever notice how fans are quick to spend the "big donors" money? Coaches, facilities ,buyouts, and now team units and players.

Yeah.
To be fair I like spending other people’s money, just don’t get to do it much. My wife seems to enjoy it as well.

I think we should put our smartest football types on this. Didn’t we hire some administrator that is “like” an NFL General Manager. I’m pretty sure several schools have done this.
