In reality, you could probably pick most any position on this team and find several common faults. Like someone else said, it appears we will have to have a large purge of players before things change to any large degree.

That is definitely part of the problem. With Maggit out, who are you going to play in the middle? They don't have the luxury of letting AJ put his hand in the dirt.

I loved what the staff did with Brewer yesterday.

You may be right....It's called graduation....and it will happen.
But it's not completely all their fault....bad coaching the past few years, lack of depth, etc.

I think alot of the issues we are seeing from the defense are related to a couple of huge factors:
1) They are on the field too long
2) they lack quality depth

This is not to dismiss some of their short comings ..but if those issues are fixed then their shortcoming are less note worthy. They are not on the filed the whole game , the offense and OC has less time to figure them out . A decent OC will figure out virtually any D if it gets enough cracks at them. The sloppiness will be less pronounced with fewer reps.

The depth will just take recruiting and time.

This all comes back to the offense sustaining drives ...which comes back to a combo of QB and receiver play .
