your picture is loading really slow for me,it does look a bit ruff.I'm surprised there practicing on it,new seed won't do anything for it,i don't know what they will do for it,probably run a roller on it ? look's to good to re sod,but of course,i don't know much about it :)

Seeding won't help at all. If they're lucky the seed would just start sprouting by the time the next game rolls around and if they played on that it would take a bad situation and make it worse. The cleats would easily rip the sprouts out and leave a bigger mess than just dirt divots.
Even if they did want to resod it then they should have done that sunday morning as its going to take at least a week for those roots to start moving into the existing dirt/sand base and if they're lucky in the next week the roots would establish a solid hold into the existing base.

Wonder if this contributed to some of the Dogs coming up lame last Saturday? Not Marshall or Barber though.

Rough Playing Surfaces

1. Boise State - Ok not rough, but have you ever tried watching a game on TV with that blue field. Wonder what mental effect that had on players. I could only stand watching a quarter and have to turn the channel.

2. Boston Celtics: Heard that the parquet floor at the Garden was not smooth and even affected ball handling. Not sure if that is just rumor or true, but know that floor was in place for a number of years and the parquet floor was hard to maintain.

3. ICE BOWL: infamous. Doubt a little beat up field could ever compare to that playing surface.

Do you want our team to get injured?

No I dont. But I also believe that General Neyland's teams that dominated, dominated without the luxuries of a perfectly sodded field. I would rather our players have a perfect field to complete on, but at the same time, its football, not golf.

Some journalists have mentioned it, they even asked Richt about it. Richt said it didn't but it may gave bc acl/mcl is quite often non contact.

I was not going to bring it up in this board but that point was brought up. We had about a couple other guys suffer some ankle sprains. Curious if any Vol players had any injuries that they may be dealing with this week.

Yeaaa...An elderly man died and a tuba players lips got ripped off after trying to pull away from the mouthpiece...probably the roughest game ever played..

And Dallas got screwed by a no call on that final drive too
