Yeaaa...An elderly man died and a tuba players lips got ripped off after trying to pull away from the mouthpiece...probably the roughest game ever played..
And Dallas got screwed by a no call on that final drive too
Picture from today's practice shows a lot of divots etc. I wonder if they still overseed it? With a week off, that could really help by the USCe game.

Just hit it with a little sand from the top dresser ....should get her back in buisness !
About to say it looked like it had been core aerated. Which is where they basically cut holes all in the turf to allow the oxygen and nutrients into the soil promoting deeper root growth. They just aerated and put sand down on Sunday, which is why the field looks barren in spots in that photo. It's spots where the sand hasn't worked its way down into the soil yet. Part of the reason the team practiced in Neyland today was to help with this process.
For those of you not familiar with turf management, a sand/topsoil mixture helps promote growth and solid roots in Bermuda grass, especially in transitional and colder seasons.
It will be green and lush again by the time they paint the checkerboards next Thursday.
It's amazing what sand will do for warmer grasses. You can almost watch it grow and fill in.
There are Bermuda grass fields as far north a DC and Philly. Even when it goes dormant you have the root structure. They simply overseed and re-overseed as needed to keep it green.
A couple of bulldog fans were complaining about this in my office yesterday. You'd think if it were that dangerous, UT would have had an injury by now. After all, we play on it the most.
I work in the parks and rec system down here in south Florida and all the highschool football fields rarely get new sod put in...about 2 months before the season starts were "poke holes " then top dress the crap out of them until they cut off our sand budget lol...look brand new by seasons start.
