He said it.

It sure as hell shows.

Not sure if I qualify as an "apologist" - how about more like a realist?

You've attributed 2 quotes both saying they "don't like" Tennessee. Did I miss those quotes? Ivan says he "likes" Florida better given 1) the more favorable schedule and 2) his faith in UM against the off-season troubles in Vol land. This not the same as saying they don't like Tennessee. Also, it appears the context of the word "like" is who do you "like" to win the game, not a personal description of affection for a team. It's like saying I like the 5 horse in this race.

If you look hard, you can find a "slight" in anything.

My apologist :twocents: :laugh1:

That was pretty funny....Croyle couldn't hold any of the QB's in the SEC's jock and they talk about him like he's a god....When he's on the field Bama meshes but he's not that good....Can't wait till we stomp them in their house!

I agree in general with those 2 comments by espn as well.

We do have a killer schedule playing at Florida and at LSU.

I have thought myself, that there have been a lot of off the field distractions wondering how it would affect the players performance/moral.

In the end, it doesnt mean nothing though. Only thing that matters is what happens on the field, so they can say whatever they want and I think are players understand that.

If Riggs starts racking up Heisman like numbers lets see how much play they give him.

If we could paste a NIKE swoosh on his shoes and helmet that would probably help some. But the bottom line is in what Ivan said, "I don't like Tennessee."

He said it.

It sure as hell shows.

As far as I'm concerned, the only reason to tune in to them is if the Vols are playing or there's a game I really want to watch. Most of the time then I just turn the sound down real low and watch the game.

If Riggs does have a banner season It's going to be interesting to watch them submarine him.

As long as they have the monopoly they have no UT player will ever stand a chance at the Heisman.

They said it, "They don't like Tennessee."

Spin away ESPN apologists.

Not that you're about to hold what I say with any value, but...

They trusted their readers could fill in the brackets. As in "I don't like Tennessee [to win the SEC East]."

I think what you meant was "I don't like Tennessee [to win the SEC East because I need to pump up a team that wears Nike)." :fool:

Man-O-Man!...ESPN and even people on this board believe that the URBANATOR vacum sucks up all the air in the SEC...C'mon guys, just over four years ago he was what?..a receivers coach for a mediocre ND team. NOW he's not only going to lead the swamp suckers to the NC, he's the next BIB-TIME...I mean BIG-TIME NFL coach...Could someone please let him just take one step on the water,..er I mean sideline in an SEC game before you start sacrificing your children. Where's Norv Turner when you need him. The Don of the West Coast offense has how many Superbowl rings and is now where? Do you know what vacum's do when they suck too much..they IMPLODE!

I'm well aware of the context Milo. And you're wrong; I respect the contributions of everyone when they're not offered simply for the sake of argument.

Many a truth is said in a subconscious manner.

Numerous other ways a journalist (phffft, as if these clowns could be considered as journalists) could have said that was .... "I don't like Tennessee's chances ..." "I don't like their chances .." "I don't think Tennessee's schedule provides the best opportunity ..." ...

I'm sure you get the point. What I'm saying is that many a truth is offered subconsciously. The fact that he chose those words may or may not have been indicative of his true feelings. When compared to his other statements one would have to at a minimum leave open the door of consideration that the subconscious mind was speaking its true intent.

A wise man once said, "That which lies in the well of the heart always comes up in the bucket of the mouth."

It’s sort of like how some people always look for a way to take the opposite view of certain other people. Is it the subconscious mind driving it? Is it a distinct dislike for dissent? Or is it a pure coincidence that 2 people could always be on the opposite ends of the philosophical spectrum?

As to the jokes regarding the millions poured in by the garment giant, I'll leave you all to your ignorance. It must be lovely there. :p

the Old Philosopher . . . I like that OldVol. Let me try a few . . .

A peanut is neither a pea nor a nut . . . discuss . . .

If a Bammer booster pays a defensive tackle's high school coach in the woods, and no one is within 5 miles of them (hence no one can see nor hear the transaction), is it really cheating?

If Bama is involved, it's always cheating. Just remember that rule of thumb.

As to the pea and the nut, well, you decide. :p
