I've never understood the whole rules on uniforms, and honestly I've never understood why home teams would want to wear white. I get it for football teams when it's hot because the lighter color is cooler, but most of it does seem like just a holdover from black and white TV days.
As long as the color contrast enough I see no problem with teams both wearing their color uniforms. UT football used to do it all the time; in fact you could argue in some years UT wouldn't even need a white jersey. I also don't see why the home team in basketball couldn't just wear whatever they wanted as long as they gave the visiting team enough advance notice. I thought it was great when UT wore their orange uniforms against UK 2 seasons ago.
Just seems like there's way too many rules about this stuff.
