Why can't these overpaid performers just sing the National Anthem as it was written by Francis Scott Key? If they want to play around with the musical notes, then they should keep that between themselves and the ceramic tiles in their showers.
They definitely like to leave their mark on the Anthem. If any of you were at the UT-SC BBall Game yesterday, what are you thoughts on that crazy tempo and tune that the Grace Christian Academy Choir applied to the Star Spangled Banner?
I agree, it's just annoying. And if you're going to add on, at least get the words right. The girl tonight sang "gave proof TO the night"... The most unique rendition I've ever heard live was before a World Series game in 1996 I think when John Popper played it on the harmonica . . . Then the Yankees proceeded to overcome a 2 games to none series lead and wax the Braves in 4 straight. That harmonica solo was the only good thing about that week. :bad:
The year before that, I heard the worst rendition ever when the Rembrandts sang it. All I kept thinking was "stick to singing that stupid Friends song". :yuck:

same here.I don't remember that one. I still don't think anything could ever top Carl Lewis' voice cracking and then saying "wUh-Oh" and later "work with me here". I die laughing every time I see that.
That never gets old..lol:The Carl Lewis clip is stuck in the middle of this ESPN blooper montage. It's worth watching this to see Charlie Steiner completely fall apart over and over again.

Watching that is a pain not unlike fingernails on a chalkboard. I have to change the channel every time someone says they are going to show it.The Carl Lewis clip is stuck in the middle of this ESPN blooper montage. That was a very inspiring moment. If I am not mistaken they also sang "God Bless America" and then everyone broke out in the U.S.A chant. For a brief moment, it wasn't LSU fans and Tennessee fans, it was Americans...then the game started.i like it simple. the best one i've ever heard live was the TN/LSU game in 01 at Neyland...maybe it was because it was the first game after 9/11 or whatever, but the whole stadium was singing it and standing etc.......it was really cool and fairly emotional..........if i do say so myself.:cray:
