The debacle that is several teams we are competing against directly.

Georgia may have punked us, but they had no reason to suck bad enough to embarass the league out of conference and they have a record that does not excited Jay Rome or anyone else. You can also hear loud grumblings from a deeply demotivated and discontented fan base.

Florida has a 3 game home losing streak for the first time since the 80s. They have a higher level of talent on paper than any team except Alabama and they are squandering it. Players are mad, coaches are confused (default for CUM).

Clemson is 5 and 5 and out of the conference race completely while nc state and even maryland has a chance still. We are heads up going against them and we should do well.

South Carolina is having an awesome year, but even last year we failed to pull Lattimore from Spurrier.

Our team is awakened under Bray and even if negavols want to minimize our new season, recruits are noticing and liking our freshman QB who is playing with lots of other talented freshmen.

Top 15 at the end of it all. Major kudos to Dooley and the staff.

PS Texas really sucks and is making sure that Florida is not the biggest talent wasters in CFB.

i agree....but if we won a game by a score of 100 to 0 and every fan was given a crisp new 100 dollar bill for attending someone would ***** because it was green

You make a great point about Texas. Everybody before the season said we were going to be bad because of 3 coaches in 3 years. What has happen at Texas same staff great talent? Mack feeling the heat? ESPN is not making fun them. GBO!!!

These folks seem to be yapping less and less.

Bray vs. Memphis: "It was Memphis, wait till he faces SEC competition."

Bray vs. Ole Miss: The Squirrel said "Masoli had a concussion." Masoli was on defense?

What will they say after the Vandy game?

Tennessee has played a difficult schedule with a very young ball team and a new coaching staff. We were competitive for a least a half in each game with the exception of Georgia. We should have beaten LSU as well. If we were losing to Ole Miss and UAB we would have a problem. Dooley and Co. need 3 years of recruiting to get back to competing for a SEC championship and I believe that Dooley will be fine. However Mike Hamilton needs to be fires the sooner the better.

So, you say Dooley will be fine but advocating the firing of the man who hired him. Why?

"Wait til we play a real team like Kentucky?"

Seriously, though, I don't care what they say, as long as it includes that we did beat Vandy.

Texas could be following in our footsteps. Does Mack Brown equal Fulmer 2.0?

Also, I wonder how that pansie Mustache is feeling about that "coach in waiting" status now?

probably the same as jason garrett feels about his job. Sure they're down right now... but it's still a bada** job with big paycheck.

Even though it's a relatively new idea/trend, I think the "coach in waiting" is very interesting from a strategy perspective. You benefit from being able to retain someone your school has identified as a high calibur talent who otherwise might jump ship for a different head coaching opportunity. This allows the university to prepare for the future and keep the current head coach happy.

However, I believe over time, we will see data suggesting that having a "head coach in waiting" can be potentially disastrous to the institution. For one, you have shifted the power balance, which can lead to all kinds of problems down the road. Secondly, you are rewarding someone for their work upfront while exposing yourself to many new risks. In this situation, the "head coach in waiting's" optimal strategy is to underperform (do just enough to stay off the radar). This could potentially result in team turmoil that shifts the power balance even more, and/or result in the head coach being fired/resigning even earlier than originally anticipated.

The most positive outcomes for the "head coach in waiting" come at the expense of the current head coach.

Urban may also be about to experience some more offensive staff turnover. Don't know how that will affect recruiting, but I doubt it will help.

The same thing because they are correct. Get your head out of the clouds and you will see it too. Now we are playing the bottom feeders of the SEC, we should look better. Bray has been impressive but dont kid yourself that were playing top 10 teams like we did the first half of the season. Im as excited about Bray as anyone, but it was Memphis and Ole Miss

Bray threw 2 TDs vs. USCjr, right?

How did Florida's QBs do vs. USCjr yesterday? Huh?

Give Bray a chance!

Dont discredit Bray because of competition. He is doing what great/solid QBs should do to these teams and thats the key to all of this. Thats why you should be excited.

Our last QB has a good bit more experience and sucked against UAB and UT-Martin.

I love how people overreact to Texas. Should they be better? Yes. But they are replacing the winningest college QB ever and missed a lot on D. They can't have one bad year?

And the John Brantley experiment just isn't working.

After they did this last year, didn't the NCAA say that any recruiting done by either counts as a Head Coach call/visit? If so, that is a big disadvantage to most schools. I know it probably doesn't affect Texas much, but for someone like UT, it would.

Some of us really HATE the Pronghorns! If you knew any of their arrogant fans, you would be happy when they lose too. :pepper:
