These folks seem to be yapping less and less.

Bray vs. Memphis: "It was Memphis, wait till he faces SEC competition."

Bray vs. Ole Miss: The Squirrel said "Masoli had a concussion." Masoli was on defense?

What will they say after the Vandy game?

Vandy sucks?:eek:k:

What is Bray's TD-Int ratio 10 to 3? Boise State's Kellen Moore has the same type of ratio against lesser competition and gets canonized for the Heisman discussion.

I love how people overreact to Texas. Should they be better? Yes. But they are replacing the winningest college QB ever and missed a lot on D. They can't have one bad year?

And the John Brantley experiment just isn't working.

Even good teams have bad years (Texas, Florida--talent laden), then sometimes they don't necessarily develop the talent they have expecting 5-stars to be 5-stars already with college experience instead of pushing them practice-wise. I would think that there are a lot of Gator players upset seeing FL implode. Lack of player development/utilization if you ask me. I think the VOLS also are very attractive to recruits because we are playing so many freshmen and all they have to do is prove themselves to get on the field; don't have to sit behind 3-deep roster in every position to get playing time. So, do recruits want to sit on the bench or play; they should be able to see how e're giving all our players an opportunity to play and show what they have? Who wouldn't want to play for the next Peyton Manning (Bray)? With Bray's experience gained the rest of this year, next year look good at the QB position + Worley.

Some of us really HATE the Pronghorns! If you knew any of their arrogant fans, you would be happy when they lose too. :pepper:

Not all in Texas hate the Longhorns. I happen to like them. Don't forget, they didn't have a coach until they hired Mack Brown (From TN I might add). The Texas fans aren't any different then other rabid fan bases. There are good fans and bad fans and then there are just jerks (most Alabubba fans); sorry, had to sneak that one in there. As you can also seek the Alabubba fans aren't too thrilled with their high expectations coming off a NC season and now having two losses. It will be interesting to see how the Iron Bowl plays out this year. I think Alabubba ruins Auburn's NC chances. Personally, I'd like to see them both lose. Then Auburn can beat SC and make Spurrier throw his visor in the SEC CG.

Are you really comparing Bray to Moore already?
And I'm not so sure that Moore has played lesser competition than Memphis and Ole Miss.

You must not be very familiar with his conference. Ole Miss is more talented then every team in that conference except Boise State. Nevada and Hawaii are probably close to Ole Miss in terms of talent.

The same thing because they are correct. Get your head out of the clouds and you will see it too. Now we are playing the bottom feeders of the SEC, we should look better. Bray has been impressive but dont kid yourself that were playing top 10 teams like we did the first half of the season. Im as excited about Bray as anyone, but it was Memphis and Ole Miss

I was worried about Ole Miss for a bunch of reasons--established program, SEC caliber D&O lines, a one-time heisman candidate QB, SEC caliber running game etc. Sure, their win/loss record sucked, but they put up some big numbers on some big programs. I thought Bray would do okay, but that Simms would have to come in and pull something together in the end. I did not expect a blow out where we were able to play most of our 2nd string for most of the 4th quarter. Not sure many of us expected that to happen at this point in our "rebirth." I think we will still have to be focused and have our heads in the game to beat Vandy and certainly Kentucky, but this was a statement game beyond my expectations.

I am familiar with their conference and with Memphis and Ole Miss. I'm not saying that conference is loaded with talent but I am saying several teams could compete with Memphis and Ole Miss, particulalrly the Ole Miss we saw Saturday.

I agree. And Ole Miss has better talent than Nevada and Hawaii also. They would only lose 1 game in that conference if they showed up each week.

Terrible post because Bray has looked far better in wins against Memphis and Ole Miss than Simms looked against TN-Martin and UAB. And Ole Miss is far better than any of those teams.

The debacle that is several teams we are competing against directly.

Georgia may have punked us, but they had no reason to suck bad enough to embarass the league out of conference and they have a record that does not excited Jay Rome or anyone else. You can also hear loud grumblings from a deeply demotivated and discontented fan base.

Florida has a 3 game home losing streak for the first time since the 80s. They have a higher level of talent on paper than any team except Alabama and they are squandering it. Players are mad, coaches are confused (default for CUM).

Clemson is 5 and 5 and out of the conference race completely while nc state and even maryland has a chance still. We are heads up going against them and we should do well.

South Carolina is having an awesome year, but even last year we failed to pull Lattimore from Spurrier.

Our team is awakened under Bray and even if negavols want to minimize our new season, recruits are noticing and liking our freshman QB who is playing with lots of other talented freshmen.

Top 15 at the end of it all. Major kudos to Dooley and the staff.

PS Texas really sucks and is making sure that Florida is not the biggest talent wasters in CFB.

To me Georgia is still the biggest underachiever and disappointment by far. To have all that talent and to be sitting at 5-6 is completely laughable. This is a school that has had Top 5-10 recruiting classes just about every single year over the last decade. Nobody has done less with more over the last few years than Richt and it is starting to look like a consistent trend.

I agree looks like Richt is falling in to the trap alot of coaches do when the game changes and they dont think they need to change with it! Happened to CPF and now Mack Brown!

UGA,
UF,
Texas...

All amazingly bad with the talent they have.

When Dooley has that level of talent by 2013 or so I expect him to never win less than 8 games a year. He may periodically lose in a bad upset where the team was flat and turnovers hurt them, but I expect him to beat the teams he is supposed to beat.

He is already doing that this year, and trust me, we are not significantly more talented as a roster than Ole Miss. QB play is incredibly important as we all know, and the difference between Bray halfway through a season and Simms in the first half is dramatic.

Bray by the way was not the same guy at the start as he is now, and those who wish we had started him from the first were not paying close attention.

Plus texas has those badass new statues....recruiting just got even easier for them.

They're all eyesores. But that el cheapo deluxe statue of Roger Clemens is the most truly ridiculous thing I've ever seen. Got to wonder what those people at Texas were thinking.

UF can at least say they are replacing a once in a decade player in Tebow and a lot off draft picks of their defense as well as one of the better DCs in college football.

I'm not surprised UF is struggling, but I am surprised they are struggling this much.

Texas and UGA not so much. They just look like bad football teams with bad players.

I'm giving Florida and Texas a pass for this season, only because in recent years they have been very successful on the field, winning multiple conference championships and even a national title or two. So one disappointing season I wouldnt' consider the "norm" for them, at least yet. Georgia on the other hand is the complete opposite recently. This trend has been developing for them for a while now. The last 3 seasons for them have not been pretty. Major underachievers in each of those years.

Montrell,
I may overestimate Texas talent, but I have watched them lose to what I saw as lesser teams talent wise in almost all of their best years.

UF has had an absurd run under Meyer. I just do not understand their defense playing the way it is with all that talent. I expected them to reload and they did not.

I agree, for all the absurd amount of talent Texas has I still think they have underachieved for the most part. Mack Brown is a lot like Fulmer of the 90's. Elite talent every single season and despite some success it's not nearly to the level that it should be.
