Our schedule

We have the team to win these games. It’s fine. Besides, this tough schedule will pay huge dividends come tournament time. Both during the tournament and during Selection Sunday, because we’ll have a great RPI and SOS.

AND our players will know exactly what it takes to win at the highest level of college basketball.

Wow just looked at it closely

Unbelievablely tough Nova, UNC/Purdue possibly, Texas Memphis, Texas Tech & Arizona

Only one of those games is at TBA, the Arizona game, but as Barnes usually says, if you want some big wins, the first thing you have to do is schedule some good teams, and he will tell you the program needs an assortment of some top 20 teams before the conference season starts,

Villanova lost to UCLA yesterday and Gonzaga drilled Texas in a rout. Texas was down by 20 at half and Gonzaga easily won by double digits. Maybe Villanova isn’t really that good? We will see next Saturday. Memphis, Texas tech and Arizona should be wins for Tennessee but season just started probably too soon to tell.

Got a lot of faith in this team. I feel like KC will come up big in a lot of those games to help Tennessee win.

Isn't a big deal to lose to UCLA by 2, especially this early in the season. Villanova will be ready for us and will be a very tough win for us, I'm sure.

Really? UCLA ranked #2 and a Final 4 team last year. Villanova was ranked #4 and this OT game was played in Pauley Pavilion. Villanova played well.

I was hoping Nova would beat UCLA and feeling fat before our game. Instead, they will be hungry and playing much closer than 3,000 miles from home.

Villanova probably is very good. Memphis, Texas Tech, and Arizona are going to be tough teams. I’m not willing to say they should be wins right now, but time will tell.

Villanova’s starters played 195 of 225 possible minutes against UCLA, claiming 87% of the total team minutes. Seems to point to possible depth issues with the Wildcats. Our game plan for this matchup will be interesting. I assume we try to wear them down.
