Wow just looked at it closely

Unbelievablely tough Nova, UNC/Purdue possibly, Texas Memphis, Texas Tech & Arizona

And Colorado on the road.

Villanova’s starters played 195 of 225 possible minutes against UCLA, claiming 87% of the total team minutes. Seems to point to possible depth issues with the Wildcats. Our game plan for this matchup will be interesting. I assume we try to wear them down.

I was actually just looking at this, they go 6 deep, pretty wild…

They shoot a ton of 3’s, and they shoot them very well…5/6 rotation guys are currently shooting 50% or better from deep, only Daniels is less as he 0/6 on the year so far, but he shot 39% last year from deep so every single one of their rotation guys is essentially a 40%+ 3pt shooter. 50% 3pt shooting on the year good for 5th nationally and average 13.5 made 3’s a game, good for 12th nationally.

We currently lead the country in ORPG with 21 a game, they are one of the worst defensive rebounding and overall rebounding teams in the country (so far), we need to dominate the glass and really our score them with 2nd change points.

I doubt we probably see Plavsic at all, Zeigler on Gillespie would probably be ok but I could see this as a game that Mashack sees ~8 minutes to harass a couple of their perimeter guys. I think it’ll be a game we really need James to play well, probably gonna need him to play quite a bit of 4 as I’m not sure I feel great about BHH/ON guarding their 4’s.

Yeah, I think James is pivotal with this game. I also think Mashack gets more minutes than he has. Villanova has some advantages from the perimeter, but we have a team capable of matching them statistically. I think Chandler steps up and dictates the pace of the game and we play our best defense of the year. We wear them down and win a close one.
