I honestly do not believe flordia is going to be able to run against ut. So what are they going to do pick on our secondary?? Do we make changes to make that better our not? listen i know jason allen is capable of playing corner and being a huge factor everywhere esle but do we need to put him back at safety. that way he doesnt have a guy to cover?? Our defense should win us the game at the swamp. There is no excuses for us not to win!!

A-men to that brother. I agree that our defense is going to make this one happpen, but the secondary is going to have to cover the slant routes. Which we have had trouble with for as long as I can remember. I am of the opinion that this one is decided late in the forth from a defensive stand on forth down. I just don't see our defensive guys not being up for this one.

Allen stays put and shuts down their sure hands deep man.(Name?) If we can keep everything in front of us and force Leak to dump off early he'll make mistakes.

Im only concerned about Mitchell, If he isnt ready can Mayo drop back and cover with confidence? He's a bruiser but is he ready to keep all the underneath passes in check.

Their best WR is Chad Jackson, but Dallas Baker and Andre Caldwell are also dangerous deep threats.

I really think our secondary is going to get abused in this game. We better knock Leak on his ass all night . . . that's the only way I've seen us beat the Gators in recent years.

I think this game follows a similar script to 1998. UF's passers (Johnson and Palmer) combined for 400 yards, but our D kept blitzing and knocking them down all night. We ran it well enough and forced enough turnovers to win, and that's what we'll have to do this year.

Stats are irrelevant so long as you win the game. Look at how many yards LSU gave up the other night.

Our defensive secondary should compete with Florida receivers just fine.... They covered well against UAB, but being 6" 3" and 230#, the UAB QB was able to escape and eventually find a receiver.

Leake won't be able to escape so easily. If the defensive line puts the heat on Leake, Allen and Mayo should have no problem in keeping up with the receivers.

I see us giving up a lot of passing yards, too. But, that doesn't mean we lose the game. We shouldn't have a problem shutting down their rushing attack. I also don't see them stopping our offense at all.

I think Mayo is capable of doing the job if called upon to play as a starter.

i believe demetrice morley will be a big factor in this game his home town plus he looked great against uab!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Watch for him to have a good game!

Slant routesare going to kill us. Yes, we need to bully Leak and get him scared...forcing him to make bad decisions. When he does make a bad decision, Jason Allen at corner will be there to create turnovers. Scheme's don't win football games. That's all Their offense is. A scheme.

I think an advantage we have is that we have some guys that I call "Sandlot players"........guys that are going to find a way to make a big play and have fun while they're at it (Jason Allen, Mahelona, Riggs, etc.) I think Florida's players are somewhat robotic, products of a system and timing.

they can pick us apart all they want as long as we keep them out of the endzone....and we need the running attack back to full force....if we control the clock...we will win the game....and schemes dont win games....the players participating in those schemes is what matters....they may have our playbook from cj leak or whatever....but we prolly run a lot of diff plays out of a formation...so they still dont know whats coming.....even if they do....if we execute it will not matter...the team that makes the biggest plays when needed and makes the fewest mistakes will win...HANDS DOWN!!

No bigz, our defensive front needs to keep their HANDS UP on their way to nailing Leak. He's not that tall and we need to make his view downfield miserable to say the least..

OUR SECONDARY IS GOING TO GET PICKED APART. THE KEY IS NOT GIVING UP BIG PLAYS AND PLAYING FIELD POSITION. I DON'T BELIEVE THIS IS GOING TO BE A HIGH SCORING GAME. SO HOPEFULLY WE HAVE ALOT OF SUCESS RUNNING THE FOOTBALL AND CONTROLLING THE CLOCK.

Well gents maybe some of you were at a different game than we were when we played UAB. If I would have been Watson Brown and noticed that I couldnt' run on you but I could pick you apart with the pass, I would have started with the pass allot earlier. If they would have, I have no doubt, that us winning that game was a longshot. It was just that they didn't switch to a strictly pass offense in-time. So in my opinion we escaped.
If i'm Urban Meyer and Chris Leak i'm licking my chops. Our secondary looked horrendous!, and regardless what anyone thinks we didn't not play that well up front.

Don't get me wrong I BLEED ORANGE! I just don't understand how anyone who watched the UAB game can say we looked alright on defense. We really need to shore things up and the defensive front really needs to put pressure on Leak. I agree with everyone that Hackney is the real deal and he played a great game, we just didn't apply constant pressure. We definitely have the skills I just hope we get going on all cylinders by this Saturday.

I do have a question for soemone out there because I couldnt' find much on it. Why was Riggs out for so many series during the UAB game? I saw Yancey and Foster on the field a lot more than I thought I would. Riggs is a horse so we should be riding him to victory!

I say we win in the same fashion we did in '98 as mentioned above. We need to get to Leak often!

GO VOLS!

Simple, it's a little thing called experience. Somebody is going to have to come in for Riggs once in a while to let him catch him breath. So why not play Yancey and Foster. The UAB game turned out to be great experience for both of them and will help us in the long run.

As for the secondary, Tennessee was playing a lot of zone and not blitzing much. That will change against UF, mark my words. Afterall, UAB only put 10 points on us. I'm not half as worried about the secondary as I was last year.

I believe our secondary didn't show all of their cards agaainst UAB & will be considerably better. Along with many of you, I still think that the main ingredient is to pound Leak & disrupt his rhythm. Because even though I believe our db's are better than advertized, Leak is capable of picking even the best secondaries apart if he has time.....

Oh yeah, I think D. Morely will be pushing the top of the depth charts after this game....IMO

Jason Allen had a great pick off Leak last year.

Maybe Leak will try to be guttsy & throw Allen's way this year. Then maybe Allen can show him who is daddy is!!!!!!!!
