I would say it would be funny to give Beamer with SC a dose of his own „Beamer Ball“ medicine. But I really am hoping there is no need to punt in that game.As if our offense wasn’t already bordering on unfair. Can’t wait for some epic, morale-killing fake punt scenarios.
As is the case by design. Heupel wants to give opposing teams even more stuff to prepare for.Well it’s not such a secret NOW!
Football was more about the foot back then.Neyland would cringe.
From the other direction, I wonder if we will ever see a modern coach do a surprise quick punt on third down. Current DCs probably have never even told their kids that that is possible. Talk about flipping the fieldFootball was more about the foot back then.
When either team only got one or two good opportunities to score in a game, because defense ruled, having a great kicker was key.
Still important today, absolutely. But not a significant percentage of the pre-season conversation.
Go Vols!
This is great for sure, but is he a solid punter (assuming we have to punt occasionally)?
While on this topic, I’ve heard nothing about our kicking game for this year.
Well it’s not such a secret NOW!
I have to say, the thought of scoring one against the gamecucks on a TD pass from our punter on 4th down certainly brings a smile to one’s face. But I’d settle for a satisfying fake-punt conversion for 1st down.I would say it would be funny to give Beamer with SC a dose of his own „Beamer Ball“ medicine. But I really am hoping there is no need to punt in that game.

Of course, even if we succeed in pulling a few of these off; it will be spun as just another „gimmick“.
