Johnny loved the quick kick. I sincerely doubt anyone would try that again unless they had a comfortable lead in a deluge game.I
From the other direction, I wonder if we will ever see a modern coach do a surprise quick punt on third down. Current DCs probably have never even told their kids that that is possible. Talk about flipping the field
Truth!I would say it would be funny to give Beamer with SC a dose of his own „Beamer Ball“ medicine. But I really am hoping there is no need to punt in that game.
As is the case by design. Heupel wants to give opposing teams even more stuff to prepare for.
Of course, even if we succeed in pulling a few of these off; it will be spun as just another „gimmick“.
Creating confusion in the enemy is a potent strategy in any conflict that eventually delivers huge dividendsTruth!
Yeah, I was wonderin'... how many points are they giving this season for those gimmick touchdowns?

Knowing Heupel, we'll be pinned back on our 5 yard line on 3rd down, he'll "sneak" Ross into the game for a quick kick... and while their safety is scrambling to get back for the anticipated punt, Ross will zip a 30 yard strike to Keyton on the sideline.
Seriously, the threat of a passing punter could cause special teams coaches to drop back 3, thus limiting how many are rushing the punt. For sure, Ross represents a new piece on the special teams chessboard.

Coach can " gimmick" every game if that's what the opponents thinkI would say it would be funny to give Beamer with SC a dose of his own „Beamer Ball“ medicine. But I really am hoping there is no need to punt in that game.

Coach Josh Heupel CALLING OUT Ross...
Yeah. That hat looks like sun fade AND salt deposits from sweat. That hat is awesome!!
I was thinking the same thing, like many here, I'm sure.Hazle was a D1 QB also and a bit younger than Heupel. I'll bet he has a few yards left in his arm.
I think Heupel and Ross should play this up and do a charity "competition." Let Joe and Nico "coach" them and have some fun with it for a good cause, then let Nico and Joe show them how it's really done.
