Our Starting QB In 2014...

We had better go out and get a JUCO QB like Auburn does. It could have been a different season if our QB play hadn't been so woefully inept.

I can't believe this is still a question.

Worley will be the starter. How is this hard for anyone to grasp??

The Tennessee team that went to OT with Georgia, then beat South Carolina, would have hammered Vandy last night. What's the difference between that team and the crap on the field last night? The QB.

The only bad thing about our offense last night was Dobbs. We are a better team with Worley in the game. How that is still a question is beyond me.

I agree and I ate a plate of crow last night.

Worley is the best we have, but that doesn't mean he's good enough. He's a high-character kid that works hard, but limited talent only takes you so far. The SEC has gotten too good to try and skate by with an inconsistent so-so QB. But yes, Worley will probably be our guy.

Had Riley Ferguson not been injured when Worley went down, he probably would have been the QB but Dobbs was the only choice at the time, but, as CBJ said in the sports section of today's paper, with only one game left, it wasn't worth burning his redshirt. I expect he will be battling Worley for the job next spring.

I'm not betting my chips until I see how the offseason goes when some of the EE show up. My only thought us that if you do go after a juco QB it doesn't emphasize to your current QBS to work hard.

I think petter pan takes a walk and goes to chatt or tech to finish his year.

Worley stays just because he has class.

Butch goes after a stud QB in 2015

So we can have a first year starter in this system again? You guys are awfully quick to get down on a freshman qb playing in the best conference, with absolutely no help from his receivers.

One thing I find interesting about the game is play calling. Everyone wants to complain about a conservative offense. But take a look at the other side of the line last night. Vanderbilt ran a lot of sideline outs and screens and tried running the ball 95% of the time. That last drive they did exactly what the announcers kept saying they were expecting. Down field passes. And bam 95 yards later game over. If Vanderbilt through down field more often earlier in the game I think we lose by 10 to 17 and we are complaining more once again about how slow and pathetic the defense is. My opinion Vanderbilt played to the strength of our defense for most of the night and that is why it was as close as it was. That being said if our offense had made a few more plays in the last 6 minutes then the game in Lexington would mean something other than finally some of the players that we as fans have yet to see give their all will play their last game. And maybe they have gave their all. Their all was just ACC or Big Ten quality.

Anxious to see Fergie next season.
Coming out of the Elite 11 this summer he was described as the most intuitive of the 25 qbs in camp.
Also a guy that could throw with accuracy on the run off of either foot.
Be interesting to see if he can win the job.

You must have forgotten his magnificent performance againt Florida.

My Bad I read that wrong....apologies.

As bad as I don't want to admit it, because I have been a Dobbs guy since he signed, we win that game last night with Worley.

Next year's qb competition is wide open in the spring, with exception to Peterman, which is kinda scary if Riley isn't head and shoulders above Dobbs and Worley!

The young guys need someone to learn behind. A JUCO QB could provide that. Clearly, throwing Dobbs and Peterman in cold hasn't worked. Ferguson is an unknown and may be great, but he lacks gameday experience. Worley works hard; he just has a ceiling and is very limiting. A JUCO would help us bridge the gap and provide leadership for the young QBs. IDT CBJ will go that route, but I think we need immediate help at QB. JMO.

This is what gets me when it comes to Dobbs. The kid can pass the ball ten times and screw up on nine of them. Then when he makes that one good throw and the receiver drops it, everyone blames his shortcomings on the receivers.

I'm not blaming it solely on the receivers. He's young. VERY young. Peyton, Casey and Ainge made glaring mistakes as true freshmen, but they had great running games and defenses to help hide their weaknesses. Our play calling has done Dobbs no favors either. We should never have been throwing this much.

This is funny. RF had been passed before the injury. That is straight from CBJ's mouth. RF would not do any better as a true freshman against those tough Ds that Dobbs faced. He also is not a big a run threat. Dobbs will start next year and be much improved for playing this year. Conservative play calling really hurt us yesterday and Smith with the dropsies. Not to mention our best offensive player was hurt. North would have made a huge difference.

It's time to give Uncle Rico his shot! He already has an orange van.

Why do you not sign a minimum of 1 QB per class???? Does this go back on Dooley? Why doesn't CBJ have one QB in 2014?

Will be Worley...period..more poise..more experience with SEC speed..better leadership. The guy has progressed since he has been here. No he's not Peyton, Casey or ainge but he's our best change at being
successful in 2014
