It doesn’t at all surspise me that auburn didn’t get up for the bowl game. Malzahn has some major flaws as a head coach. He’s a great play call and strategists. But as far as being the ceo of a program...not so much. He’s not the greatest recruiter and he just doesn’t seem to always understand the psychological part of the game. I’ll always remember being shocked that a couple of years ago he commented (leading up the the sec championship game against uga) that they’d totally stomped them already once this year. So shocking dumb that he would say that. He gave their entire team the ultimate bulletin board material and took away a lot of motivation from his own kids at that very moment. He’s a great game manager...but auburn will always have to take the good with the bad when it comes to him.
