Overheard in the Wolves Den...

It's a big step above Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, and Arkansas.

Lol. I've lived in both states for almost equal time (25 yrs TN, 17 in Ark) and there's actually very little difference. Of course Arkansas can rest knowing they don't have to claim a cesspool like Memphis.

I am following the vols with tempered enthusiasm
..i just don't see where ASU bravado comes from when you simply have good second half against a sub par FCS team. If I were them I would worry about their slow start last week.

I did not troll..or even post there just quote...:p But yeah there is a Vol or two there trying to rile up their fans.......personally I see Arkansas as sort of an Appalachian sequel, we're practically family, I welcome them.....and hope there are no hard feelings after we whoop dey azz...

they did have a zinger about us and our posts yearly beating Alabama as of late......"touche".... .it was worth the time if only for that song....that song is good stuff.

Arkansas is based on Tennesseans who broke down before they could make it to Texas. Making no value judgements - just the facts.

Stoops is going to be out for blood. Even if we haven't been a top notch sec program, he has it out for the SEC. He'll try to beat our brains out.

Stoops will want to win the game but he got the big trophy kicking Slives Boys in the Sugar Bowl.

Memphis is balanced out by Nashville/Middle Tennessee.

They are so deserving of getting their arse spanked after that Bovine Scatology. As if Arkansas is any more "cultured" than the inbreds in Ala'Bubba.

Agree!....and I really don't think of Memphis as Tn much... but Ever see that movie "Winter's Bone"? That movie could have been based on almost any Mtn in East Tn. I've known a "teardrop" or two around here in the hills for sure! ...ever since I saw it I have felt a certain kinship to our hillbillies who went west to the Ozarks.

Again anyone taking offense to anything said on their boards is missing the point. Go there and read for yourself, most of them are all gloom and doom and at worst are guilty of thinking they will lose in a close game vs the blow out that is sure to come. I just posted these few nuggets because they made me laugh. That song made me laugh too, yes it's making fun of us, but it's funny as hell.

I think we have a far better team talent wise then anyone realizes, including our own fans, but it won't show up in first two games. Third game is likely a reality check...or, we might just do better then people think.... I hope so, because I DO believe Georgia will finish the year better then Oklahoma. Oklahoma will be tough, and Georgia tougher....but Arkansas State will likely be another highlight reel.

**** that guy and **** that song

The song is stupid, just use the stop button early.

Arkansas State is Memphis State, just a little further west. The Red Wolves have licked a few mid-majors in their mid-major world, so they are enthusiastic. Good for them.

Most of their fans are realistic and hope for breaks to help them stay close. Then there's the ledge jumpers who live in some magic forest and predict a big win. Every board might have a couple of those.
