I almost didn't want to go hiking today because I was tired of traveling for green, brown and yellow or leafless trees. I'm glad we went, it's definitely our joy, but this fall has not been very pretty. We are lucky we are close enough each year to see the beauty though. The dry October coupled with the above average temperatures in early November are impacting trees and shrubs on the Piedmont. Deciduous trees have some green leaves, some colorful leaves, and are shedding leaves. Shrubs are blooming as if it’s Spring.
