It’s not about Covid anymore. It’s literally because they know the top recruits will only commit to the top schools and won’t go to see anyone else (because they can’t). This is widening the gap, and they want it. It screws over schools like us specifically because of the new staff
How does this approach add excitement to the sport? The top of college football, for the better part of 10 years, has been quite boring. Predictability and redundancy will eventually lead to fan apathy and monetary loss.
Who’s standing in line to watch Alabama/Clemson (again) this year? At some point, the cycle must be broken for the game to thrive.
