The hatred here within is in the process of the coaching search by Hart and Cheek. They handled the situation with such ineptness that it created false expectations of the fan base.

as someone who has painted and will continue to paint the rock for the football team i just want to say that you sir are an idiot, ideas like yours only hurt the team more. nobody wanted the job. thats a fact. must be easy hiding behind your username and slinging bs at the faces of our program who i believe honestly tried to hire the best person available. you're just like i was a few days ago, still stuck in the 90's mentality with huge delusions of grandeur.... get with the program or leave it for good.

I know one thing. There wasn't even a peep in the media about him being contacted. Much less him publicly stating that he was not interested. He should have been 1b. Cannot argue with his record of winning on a consistent basis, and his players playing above their talent level.

Yet not a single word about us making an attempt.

Ertel...that is patently false. A lot of people were assured by some of the biggest boosters that a deal with Gruden was closer than naysayer's like you are willing to acknowledge. It had been mentioned by numerous media outlets that the sticking point was staff salary. That should be the last obstacle.

Then you have one of the most winning coaches in the NCAA today, who was interested in the UT job the past 2 times, and not a single word is mentioned about pursuing him (Gary Patterson). Then you have a host of prospects from the NFL who would have been viewed widely as homerun hires. Butch Davis was cleared by the NCAA itself of any wrongdoing. Many other candidates that would have helped moved this program forward.

Instead of you sunshine pumpers ridiculing folks for voicing their displeasure, how do you propose that constructive change ever occur without vocal, public dissent?

That's how it works in political circles and it's no different in fanbases sounding off when their representatives are making critical mistakes.
