You can froth at the mouth over Irvin, Meline etc...but the Vols will improve immediately as soon as Palardy sets foot on campus. We cannot get him here soon enough.

yup, after seeing the debacle that Cunningham is, Palardy needs to set foot on campus now.

not to sound too polyannish, but is there not one guy on the intramural/soccer fields that could at least get it to the 5... luckily we won't have to think in those terms in a couple of years..

IMO - let him do kickoffs and punts - let Lincoln keep his FG duty... except when the FG is like 48+ yards (then let Palardy kick them).

Cunningham had several shanks last night and can't get enough hang time I don't think.

But if Palardy can do it all no problem - then why not? But I doubt he does all 3.

I see him doing KO's and punting if Cunningham doesn't improve much during the offseason. Palardy's leg strength is phenomenal for a SR in high school.

I hear it, but a QB and a year of experience for our LBs is the MVP.

Palardy contributes immediately with no learning curve to worry about. Can't say that for any other position. I know this staff intends to start a QB that is not currently on the sidelines. It will be a miracle if they are able to pull that off.

Sadly - true. Cunningham might just be our worst starting player over Crompton.
+1. If I had to pin this loss on a single player, I think Cunningham would get the nod over Crompton.

We finally score to make it a game and what does he do? Kicks the ball off to the 20 (routinely) and leaves Auburn at midfield. Only 20 yds needed to kick a field goal and put the game out of reach. He did this twice in a row...but they got great field position each time. This is mostly on Fulmer, as he recruited no kickers in the past few years, and left us with with a bare cupboard. I bet CLK wished he had taken one in the 09 class.

I hear you, but LB experience will make an enormous difference I that intermediate passing game that trched us last night. It made the run a killer too. Cant play like that.

is Palardy going to be handling punting and kicking duties? I know he will be a huggggge upgrade on kick-offs it will be nice to see the occassional touchback

If Friday night was any indication, he will do both.

The real problem is that they don't have the speed to make up for a bad read. Experience for Frazier and King is very important. Especially given the fact that our corners are whiffing more than any other tacklers. Our LBs have no margin for error.

If we had a decent SEC caliber QB, we cut that offense's time on the field in half, and our defense is playing lights out....just like they were early on. Our repeated 3 and outs had the D gassed by the 2nd qtr....that's bad. Really bad. There's not a defense in the country that could've held up any better under those conditions, IMHO. And again, Cunningham's noodle for a leg kept giving them great starting field position.

Just as Cunningham and Lincoln lost the game for us, Palardy will spell at least a few wins next year by forcing teams to start from the 20 most of the time.
