Palardy the MVP of 2010 recruiting class

Is palardy good enough as a freshman to handle punts, fg, and kickoffs?

As good as Palardy looks in HS, yes on all 3. He has an NFL leg without a doubt. Friday night against Byrnes, every kickoff went out of the endzone, every punt was 50+ yds, and he looked automatic on FGs.

If you noticed, Palardy uses no block on xtr points or field goals. What you see is what you get. This kid is unbelievable! He is at his best when there is pressure. I spoke with him about the field goal...he was looking at the flag blowing and decided he should kick to the left upright so the ball would drift in. The only problem was, the breeze was not as strong as he thought and it died as he made the kick. Elsewise, he would have been right down the middle. Pretty good thought process and confidence for a kid 17 years old.

Do we know how strong of a lock he is to UT? I read in another thread that Meyer was recruiting him pretty hard.

He keeps looking better and better each week. Cunningham took WAY too many steps to try and get that blocked punt off.

Palardy is a one step punter. His get off time is excellent. His stats for Friday night appear to be: 6 ko with no return yardage with 4 of the 6 out of the end zone; 6 for 6 on pats; 1 punt for 51 yards, no return downed on 2 yard line.

Music to my ears...

I don't have a problem with that IF we don't have our backs to the goal, and if the protection has been good all day. An extra second or two may have been what the staff asked of him.

That is a valid point. The coaching staff may have wanted time for the coverage team to get the down the field. At that point in the game you don't want the to return it deep on our side of the field for a fg.

Would it be wrong to ask Palardy to quit his highschool team and put his leg in a safety deposit box until January?

He is definitely one of the most important pieces in the recruiting class. He can't get here soon enough for my liking,

Great call weeks in advance, Lex.

He's the class MVP, indeed!!!! He would have been worth two wins for us already this year!

Not sure where you heard he hates UF... I know this family, his older brother is a UF grad. Palardy grew up being a UF fan.

If I remember correctly he said some no so flattering things about Urban Meyer while pretending to kick a game winning field goal on in a video. It's been a few months ago so I don't remember exactly what was said. I'm getting old.

It was something like

"Imagine this kick is against Florida to win the game"

and he drilled it from like 55

At least thats what I remember for some reason

Maybe, but for some reason I was thinking Palardy said something like FU UM. Maybe that's just wishful remembering? :p
