Exactly what money is being used? From what I have read we haven't even spent all of Bush's stimulus money yet?

Speaking of - I watched Austan Goolsbee (one of the economic advisors on Team Obama) this Sunday and he was nearly screaming about how everything was Bush's fault.

I've never seen an administration use the previous one as a blank check more than this one -- not even close.

I like Goolsbee. I think he is one of the more level-headed economic members of Obama's team. If you read his views on economic theory, it is very right-of-center and he is a Chicago School of Economics product. I suspect he was merely being a loyal administration official on the show.

The blank check stuff works both ways though. The Dems have their "It's Bush's fault" cry and the Repubs had their "The terrorists will get us" cry. Whatever is available to push policy will be used.

Asking Palin for her thoughts on the economy is the equivalent of asking my neighbor's puppy to explain the guidance system on the Atlas 5 rocket.

You'd at least be conversing with 2 beings that are more competent than the current POTUS.

If you are correct on his views then I respect him even less. If he doesn't believe in his own academic views then he's an academic sham. If he does believe in them but is putting them aside for his job then he's a sell-out.

I've read some of his stuff and actually cited it in my most recent publication. It wasn't directly related to macro-economic policy though.

you had no intention of voting for mccain. please tell the truth.

a supposed clinton liberal would not be backing obama 100% like you have been.

as for palin i'm not convinced obama knows any more about economics and at least palin wouldn't be in the pocket of the unions.

Don't confuse my complete disdain for the cancer that is Limbaugh-Hannity-Coulter for actually liking Barack Obama. I've said a number of times on here that I questioned individual decisions of his and would support a anumber of alternatives to some of his choices.

I challenge you to find me one comment Obama has made regarding the economy that indicates he is more knowledgeable on the issue.

That would be all of them. Not because Obama is a brilliant economist, but because next to Palin a second grader is a Nobel Prize winner.

I don't think I've heard Palin advocate spreading the wealth around or growing things from the bottom up. I don't think I've heard her suggest that the fundamentals of the most powerful economy the world has ever known are unsound.

of course not since I bet she took and Econ 101 class somewhere in college. That class alone doubles the amount of knowledge BO has shown while in office.

Honestly, stick to talking about her values. Anytime you tout her as having any intellectual prowess, you just make the rest of us laugh at you.

name a sound economic decision your man has made since coming into office. Please also make sure it's not one my grandkids will have to pay back. Bonus points if you can refrain from using any form of Bush, GWB, etc.

Al Gore has a Nobel Prize. I'll take her and an average second grader over those two any day.

LG worships the son of god.

The trillions of dollars that the son of god printed..... that replaced the money lost, so it is just replacing not adding.

The hard core right was going to vote for her, anyway. All she does is continute to alienate the middle. The sure fire way for the GOP to continute to lose ground is to move further to the right.

yeah, i'm sure the middle is in love with hussein. i'm sure in 6 more month they'll even love him more once he passes the trade and cap tax. it seems to me the traitorous left is taxes us to point we'll vote them out of office.

hussein and pelosi is the face of the democratic party. i would rather have palin, at least she's better looking that the congressman pelosi.

oh really, i'm sure she didn't answer questions with a telepromter. lawvol, stop being a sheep for one more moment. hussein can't answer a question without saying 'ah', well, 'uh' for a minute while trying to answer a question. i guess that's why he answers questions from this telepromter.

he's such a moron, I don't care if he comes from a "center right" economic school. If his degree was worth the paper it is written on, he wouldn't keep repeated the line "this is the worst recession since 1929".

and as far as the OP goes, screw the GOP moderates. If they want to act like democrats, let them become democrats.

At least he talks in complete sentences and knows proper pronunciation.

yeah, that Harvard Law degree has to be good for something. He obviously doesn't know a damn thing about the Constitution, so his ignorance at least sounds good.

GOP moderates as opposed to what? The far right? Amazing, considering the the hard right spent like liberal democrats.

He is one of the few political speakers in that he doesn't just throw out a rehearsed line. He listens to the question and as he speaks, he is actually considering and thinking about his answer. He comes off as genuine as a consequence. Most other politicians come off as rehearsed and repetitive.
