Pallardy 43 yard field goal??

Jonathan King of Farragut is rated the #1 kicker/punter combo in the country by Ray Guy. Every Friday night, he puts on a show drilling high, booming punts. He warms up for the second half by kicking 60-yard field goals. (Granted, it's off a tee, but he makes about half of them.) A few weeks ago, I watched a couple of Georgia scouts drool over him during warm-ups.

Look for him to go to Alabama or South Carolina. The kid wants to be a Vol, but has essentially been told by the Tennessee staff that they've wasted too many scholarships on kickers already.

Oh yeah, he can kick it in the end zone every time from the 35. From the 40 where they kick off from in high school, he occasionally puts the ball through the uprights.

I know it doesn't matter at this point but that's just what has happened. We wasted scholarships. Like on Brodas, the drinker kid on the frat couch. Again coaching problems for not recruiting a valuable position and not developing the takent already here. Time for change

That may not be the worst miss ever, but the worst I can think of. Do we have any kickers on the horizon, they have to be better than this.

we are currently checking with the student body for kickers, DB's, LB's, DC .....it's a process

Scolly's on good kickers are not a waste.

We have that new kid that broke his leg in fall camp.. I think the other kickers paid someone to do it because he was going to "take their jobs!!"

I can't believe the refs called that no good. Looked like it went right over the upright to me. I thought the refs were supposed to help out the home team

I don't think that he has been able to make the transition to kicking without a tee. Think about hitting a golf ball off a tee versus off the ground. It is a little different swing. It seems like his miss is usually a low pull hook.

A kicking expert could probably fix him. He may be hitting too high on the ball, or too high on his foot. He may be subconsciously trying to lift the ball, and planting too far back and kicking up. With his hook spin, he is either hanging back and going too far inside out, or getting forward and "coming over the top." The miss Saturday started right and hooked farther right. I feel sure that he needs to change his approach angle or where he plants. It would take someone who knows kicking. I know the golf swing, and as they say "the ball flight doesn't lie."

Can someone please post a video of the kick?

My wife didn't see it and I can't find one.

Thanks! It was beyond funny. I said "here we go, let's see his progress...kick.....hahahahha, for real?!!!!!"

He has the same problem Wilhoit had early in his career.. He is kicking off of his natural ability and feeling, and he doesn't really seem to have it down to a science. Consistency comes, not just from practice, but from knowing exactly what you are doing and why the ball reacts the way it does. If you watch videos of Wilhoits tutorials he admits that he never really knew what he was doing until he left UT.

Position coaches help with this, but of course it is just the kicking game so we don't need coaches for that, right? It is much easier to catch, or throw a ball than it is to kick.. However, a kicker is "awful" when he gets 1 opportunity to prove himself and takes a bad hit. Watch soccer and you will see the best players in the world do not ALWAYS take a good hit. I will apologize for the long post, but ignorance toward the one part of the game your average fan knows nothing about is annoying. Also, I am not excusing Palardy or saying he is better than you are letting on.. I am just simply stating that it is miles harder to kick a 43 yard field goal than any of you are allowing.

He has not been coached to his potential. Simple!

That FG attempt was straight as an arrow and near perfect...if the uprights were about 20 yards off center the right.

bulluck will be back next yeaR he was suppossed to be the ? this year but broke leg i just dontt see how palady could shank a field goal 5 yards from the pillon as long as he makes extra points ill be ok but to the "top ated kicker" comming out of Hs would think we would have more FGS from longer than 39 BUT THE FAKE FG WAS PURFECT!@!

Ever heard of a little something called grammar, spelling and sentence structure?

That was the worse kick I've personally ever seen. If there had been another whole field goal post directly beside the real one I think he still would have missed. If the TV camera had to pan out much more to find the ball it would have shown the parking lot.
