Parker revenge tour continues

Do I see 3 Lady Vols in the Top 5? And One didn't have the type of career we hope she would've professionally (Holdsclaw) compared to her collegiate play!

Yes, that's what you saw - and CP & Tamika are 1 & 2. To be fair, there are some Cons sprinkled here & there :eek:lol:

I don't know what you are questioning here, Mr Paul, but the article at the link explains how the stats were interpreted. One thing about this list that jumped out at me is that Seimone Augustus is not on it. What if she had gone to UT (or, ok, gone to Con), she would certainly be on this list. Pat or Geno would have pushed her to find that ON switch, to consistently make an effort. Also she would not have waited until she was in the pros to learn defense (thanks to Catch). I think big-time players like her do not get pushed as hard when they go to schools where they are the go-to, bell-cow. In situations where they are the only star (or one of 2), they get more lee-way. Same for Griner, who I just noticed isn't on this list (maybe she just hasn't had enough years yet to build stats). She should be a phenomenal player, game in, game out.

I am not sure he was questioning. Perhaps he passed out from shock and his head landed on the "?" key.

I totally agree with you on Seimone, not only would she have become a better player but she would likely have had an NCCA championship ring or two.

Regardless of what you are trying to prove, to leave CP off the Olympic team would be like telling LaBron that he is not good enough to play on the men's Olympic team. There is no excuse for leaving one of the top 5 women basketball players in the world off the Olympic team, Rebecca Lobo tried to explain why CP was left off the team, CP did not go out for the world team, Genno was trying to get younger players on the team for the future of the team, etc. Sorry Becca but that is pure crap. In your wild but mind do you think that LaBron or Curry would be left off the Olympic team because the did not go out for the world team or the selection committee was worried about selecting younger players? Get your head out of your rear and face reality, PC got screwed without the benefit of a kiss or even a hamburger.

Parker not good enough for the Olympic team is comical....

Lobo stepped all over her Geno trying to defend his decision and their youth movement....Meanwhile, they have a 40 year old Bird at PG....

UConn fan show some class over here....Don't run that tired BS here. You guys can't really believe that stuff.

Guys, I cruised the BY and they have a thread called Olympic Oops...It's about the mistake the committee made in not choosing Parker....

Well, you guessed it...There are a few UConn fans saying it was mistake leaving Parker off the team, but there is the standard old Conn guard saying Parker is just playing good now because she wasn't chosen....I mean the stupidity of those people is non measurable.

Augustus is the one player I really wish Tennessee had landed. It's feasible that she could have graduated with 4 championships had she chose Tennessee, likely winning at least 2 years. She did lead LSU to 3 titles and was an amazing player there (2x POY), but I think she'd be remembered as one of the all time collegiate greats (ala Parker/Holdsclaw/Taurasi/Moore/Stewart/Griner) had she picked Tennessee.

Griner is one who would've surely benefitted from going to a program that pushed her harder. Griner improved immensely from her freshman year to when she graduated, but honestly I think if she went to Connecticut or Tennessee she'd be remembered as hands down the best center ever. There's no question she should have won at least 2, possibly 3 titles during her time at Baylor. If she went to UCONN, they'd literally be on a 8 straight title streak (granted they are 6 for the last 8..).

Even in the pros today, I honestly think she should be a lot better than she is. I really thought she'd be a Wilt Chamberlain for the W and utterly dominate. She shut down Big Syl a couple of years ago in the finals but has looked very mediocre so far and was dominated by Fowles in their head to head match up in the season opener.

I think that is spot on. Griner seems content to get by on her formidable gifts but is not committed to working hard to be the best. Fowles seems to have that work ethic and drive.
