Partial blocked kick

Watched this grainy video 20 times and it almost looks like the ball went through 47s hands - and somewhere in there, the ball did hit one of his hands and change the spin of the ball.

And don/t think it has been said yet but, 47 jumped the center and the left guard. Neither of them stood up till after he was past them. I played center in HS and on FGs and Extra Points, you snap and jump up to a blocking position. Look how long our left guard stays in a 4 pt stance

Why does Will Anderson not even make an attempt to block the kick and then appear to celebrate with the Tennessee players by signaling “good” with our guys while the rest of the Bama players are waving no good. Based on that play and the way he was a no show for the rest of the game, he’s either a closet Vol or had money on us.

The ball was tipped. You can hear it in the microphones of the game replay.

Is that not a flag for jumping over the line on Bama's 47?
Last sentence is what no-one is talking about. That was outlawed several years ago, specifically using teammates for leverage. He blatantly jumps over the OL by using teammates to catapult himself.

I think you're overlooking the obvious: Mr. Anderson likes to watch fireworks.

I believe it is a penalty if you jump over a lineman during a kick. I guess it doesn’t matter if the kick is made and ends the game.

I could be wrong, but I thought it was only a penalty if you leap over the center. #47 jumped over the gap between 2 guards, but not the center.

Defenders are not allowed to be off the line of scrimmage and make a running jump over the offensive lineman or climb over the back of a defensive player in front. If the defender is lined up at the line, he can jump except over the long snapper.

was definitely a tip, but curious why no one is asking the bammer DL

His name also happens to be Byron Young BTW...odd coincidence

Right...I was surprised at how easy he got over.

Oh just stop. From his angle, maybe he thought it was gonna be short.

Can someone post the partial block so I can prove a point? I saw a super slow motion clip on one of the threads here but going to be hard to find again! Thanks
From behind the ball comes off his foot normal after passing bama dl it starts the turn

I believe the penalty is jumping over your own lineman. I.e. using your own guys as a step ladder to clear the OL. If the OL drops low for blocking leverage, you can claw over them as fast as you can.

It is slightly suspect, 47 was getting some help from his down DLs on his left and right. There was a lot happening there at the very end.

Oh man. . . if he hadn't gotten a hand on it, it may not have gone through. Track the starting trajectory and it looks like it was off-target. Destiny!
I was actually thinking the same thing. The deflection may have actually redirected it in... 😳

I've seen 5 media people say that it was not blocked. They were saying that Chase stutter stepped a little.
I saw a closer shot of the kick from behind the goal post that ball was tipped, when it left his foot it was straight as an arrow. Could see it easily. I wished I'd saved the video.
