Pat Forde Called Out

... as pointless as it may have been, it is not illegal to call a timeout at any stage of the game, if you have one. That by itself should not be enough to start a fight. The play had already been very chippy, with both sides equally responsible for it. Forde likes to take shots at Tennessee. This was a stretch, even for him.

The entire situation has been massively overblown by guys like Forde IMO.

Their QB didn't sustain a devastating hit and the "fight" amounted to a bunch of chicken fighting.

Agree with your point that both sides were being chippy the entire game.

But that conveniently is getting lost in the shuffle along with the multiple horrible calls by the refs that even the broadcast team were calling out as blatantly bad.

All any of these talking heads is focusing on is the timeout call and the quarterback getting bumped into.

To his credit Pat Forde never starts heaping praise. He waits in silence in the shadows praying for something bad to happen to us so he can say we deserve it for not wanting Schiano. Still waiting on those "bills coming due" lol
Forde's not worth wasting the words, so instead I'll focus here on how it'll be fun watching Rutgers not be bowl eligible at the end of the season, after starting 3-0, for the 3rd year in a row.

Edit: I take it back - they were 5-7 in '21 and went to a bowl to become 5-8. Go Scarlet Knights!

It is a badge of honor that our fan base didn’t want Schiano. Forde can pound sand on that topic. He’s in a big minority on that subject and nobody should care about his opinion.

you guys know that this guy publishes these "takes" because he knows he is going to get clicks and headlines, right? He feeds off the reaction among TN fans. ignore them and they will go away.
He actually feeds off the ads when companies ,who could not care less , see all the attention he’s getting and gladly pay so their ads are viewed by all the clicks. Pat would take the other viewpoint with glee if he thought it would make more money. I simply don’t read this type of “journalism”.

I thought the timeout call was kind of stupid given the circumstances. I get playing to the last whistle but there is a point and time when you accept the loss and we were at that point IMO.

That being said, Forde is a grade A drama queen looking for clicks from UT fans like myself. His take on the situation was ridiculously overstated. Read this and don't give the douchebag another click.

Heupel’s display of petulance set the stage for what happened next: Gators quarterback Graham Mertz went back to take a knee, stalling for a few seconds to run more clock; when he did kneel down, ending the play, Tennessee lineman Omari Thomas decked him with a late hit and was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct. That instigated a near brawl, with a Gator and a Vol squaring off like they were in the Octagon. It could have gotten much worse.

Football is a rough contact sport and there are always plenty of fist fights in lockerooms all across the nation that we never see nor even hear about. People act way too soft about stuff like this and besides....**** Florida.

He doesn't have the courage to face the incredibly bad and one-sided officiating that determined the second half. Instead he picks the safest non-story he can find to hide behind. Blustery coward. Moral failure.

If anything, ANYTHING, remotely controversial happens involving Tennessee, Pat Forde jumps all over it. It’s almost like Tennessee stole his wife from him or something.

I will say this. A former SEC head coach once told me (I was with a group of people) that CJH is the smartest football guy he knows and he will keep receipts. Just know that if CJH does something that may seem petty for us, it might be a statement back to either the coaches or maybe an individual players.
