82 and still has a little visionary in him. You have to give him credit for that.

Can anybody in this game, with all the rules of the NCAA, stand up and say, 'Every single kid I got, every single kid, is absolutely pure?' That's a tough statement to make."

Well Joe we know you cannot come even close to saying that.

He is right about the Big 10 dissapearing for 6 weeks though.

I absolutely love Joe Pa! To me, he represents everything that is good about college football!

Yes, I agree with him that the Big Ten should add a 12th school to their conference and have a championship game. In my opinion I think it should be Notre Dame. I think it would help that program out greatly to belong to a major conference.

he's pretty dumb. the primary reason why the big-10 has gotten 2 bcs teams most years and has gotten multiple NC chances in recent memory is BECAUSE they don't have a championship game and only play 8 league games. if they had balls they'd play 9 league games at the very least, but that would increase the chances ohio state doesn't go undefeated and some craptastic runner up doesn't get the rose bowl.

I'm hoping they will do this someday but I think it'll be a while. Everyone thinks ND would be a good choice but they seem like a long shot. Raiding the Big East for someone like Pitt or even Cincinnati would make more sense to me.

And I don't think OSU playing a conference championship game would've kept them out of the NC in '07, possibly in '08 though. The Big Ten needs to get with it though. It'd be one less knock against them. Even the ACC has had their incredibly boring ACC championship for a few years now.

They have to do something, they do not play everybody like the PAC 10, nor do they have a title game like SEC, ACC, and Big 12. They should add Iowa Sate make them all close together, and have the Big 12 add TCU.

I think I remember an article before about how they should get Missouri. Iowa State would make sense too. It'd be interesting to see them try to get a team from the Big 12.

I always kinds felt that Iowa State was more of an afterthought in the Big 12, there is not any rivalry with any of the other schools and it's kind out there from Texas and Oklahoma. I have no idea why they did not add TCU when they first formed the Big 12, it would have been a better addition than Baylor has been.

The Big Ten should do something, adding Iowa State would be the best because they already have a good rival in Iowa and their game play fits with the Big 10 more than the Big 12. Noter Dame would work also, but I do not see ND ever dropping their independent label, they make a ton of money because of it.

Sounds like you are just trying to make it seem like the Pac 10 has a good system, when its essentially the same thing as the Big 10.

the pac-10 plays EVERY TEAM. if they pulled a big-10 and only played 8 league games i'm sure the pac-10 would have had more bcs bowls and a higher % of teams in bowls (like the SEC does).

Pittsburgh or Syracuse seem like the most likely schools, if any. It's all about market size. And ND isn't giving up the NBC deal.

Got me there.

Edit: Actually...UA and AU play the Iron Bowl. So there's precedent for a non post-season game being called Bowl.:p

*cough* IOWA *cough*

They will eventually. ND will join a conference.
Not until everybody who is old enough to remember ND being good ends up in a retirement home.
