Both face tough but winnable games next week. Quite possibly, the Patriots will have a chance to avenge their only loss of the season a few years ago.

Thinking the Giants will roll over the Niners with ease. Shut down Vernon and Alex Smith is worthless. After seeing what they did to Rodgers, should be a cake walk shutting down the 49ers offense. Scoring against the 49ers defense is another story but Cruz and Nicks are awesome so they should be alright.

Giants have a pretty weak run D (as you saw them get exposed by GB's weak rush attack - 147 yards and 6.3 ypc). I'd say Gore and Davis are equal focal points for the Giants D.

It will be a Ravens/49ers rematch from earlier in the year. People who don't like defense will hate it.

The Giants have the #19 defense against the run this year giving up 121 y/g and 4.5 y/a. The Niners boast the #1 defense against the run boasting numbers of 77.3 y/g and 3.5 y/a.

With the Giants boasting the #3 rushing offense in the league and Niners at #8, I think this is where this game is decided.

Because they rolled all over them the first time they played.

Just looking at trends, the Giants have won 4 in a row by 15+. And that's against some pretty stiff competition. I don't think the 49ers should expect the same Giants that they saw in November.

They shouldn't, but the Giants shouldn't expect the same 49ers they saw either.

Davis and Smith are playing at a higher level, as is Crabtree. The Giants still won't be able to run the ball

I disagree. They are putting up the same numbers they've put up all year.

Smith's last 10 games:
200 and 1
242 and 1*
267 and 2
140 and 0
274 and 2
175 and 0
187 and 1
179 and 0
213 and 1
299 and 3

Davis' last 10 games:

41 and 0
40 and 1*
67 and 1
38 and 0
32 and 0
32 and 0
72 and 1
54 and 0
118 and 0
180 and 2

I'm not seeing any sort of trend that shows me they are playing at a higher level today. Last week they were, but who knows what they'll do this week.? I think the 49ers are very good, but I just think the Giants are hotter. If Saints don't fumble like 5 times, 49ers are watching football this weekend.
