In response to the thread about cps grades being in trouble, I have a friend who has a class with him and supposedly every class he listens to his beats and falls asleep. Not good. I really hope he stays

Some kids just are not good students. NFL requires some time in school, he accomplished that and will make more than 99% of the successful students in the world. It is what it is. Enjoy him for who he is, a baller.

Staying in school and then being ineligible would be counterproductive for Patterson. I hope he goes for his sake while his stock is still high. For our sake, I hope he stays and keeps his grades up.

Haven't seen anything better than second round projections for him but he could parlay a big combine into low first round maybe.

I hope he does well enough to play another year here. But the kid is going to the NFL and college is simply a means to an end for him.

When the classes don't carry any personal value, I can see why it is hard to take them seriously.

All I know is, I am applying for OC next year.

We will have two positions:

1) CP

2) Block for CP

He really seems to be enjoying his time at least from what I can see on the field. Even with just one season he looks to be a VFL. Dude is about as best I've seen with the ball in his hands. The NFL is gonna love him...hopefully the Titans. I'd be shocked if we get lucky enough to watch him a second season in orange.

I cant imagine Hunter, Patterson or probably Bray sticking around for a new offense.

I really doubt we'll see CP back next year so enjoy it while it lasts. Too bad he had to play for one of the most underachieving Vols teams ever.

Those 3 are gone IMO.

A few o lineman as well.

We wont be totally bare but the offense will be a lot different.

This will be the vols best draft in a while.

In your opinion, will we be a better or worse football team next year?

As much as it grieves me, this is the truth. I have to deal with similar individuals, but it's true. We force them into school; not them forcing themselves into school. It's the nature of college athletics.

people MUST understand. These kids are there for one reason, and one reason only. football. I get the grades issue, im a d3 kid myself, so for me i need the grades to be eligible. But CP plays at tennessee, hes a baller, hes a shot caller, cover your ears educators.. BUT HES ABOVE YOU.

And if he does not go to class and at least attempt to learn something, he should not be on this team. People can bash me if they like, but student athlete is a 2 part idea. If he can't go to class and do as he supposed to do, then he should not be playing ball here. DD should have stepped in and held the kid accountable. Oh wait, how is that VFL working anyway? What a joke.

I agree. How would you feel if you were a lesser player that was called out for lackluster grades? I wouldn't be able to look the coach in the eyes anymore if he wasn't holding every player to the same standard. Garbage like that is an easy way to create friction and turmoil amongst the team.

Hunter, CP and Bray are gone. Slim chance Bray might have stayed if we'd had a great year, because he could have been in Heisman contention next year if things hadn't imploded. But he won't come back now. Any player that can draft out will go, even if another year would have boosted their stock.

Guys, CP was always a one & done. Good for him, he gave me a lot of highlights this season and I enjoyed watching his athleticism.

Bray would be stupid to go pro after this year. He has first round potential, but he's not even close to realizing it. He's probably dumb enough to listen to some agent that doesn't care about his well-being though.

It all depends on who the coach is. If we get Gruden, then I'm sure he will talk CP, Hunter, and Bray into staying even if he would change the offense

If the rumors about Patterson are true this is another indictment on Dooley. The minute Patterson quit going to class Dooley should have sat him. What is the point of kicking Da'rick off theteam if you allow this to happen.

This program is a cluster f***, and it starts at the top!

I agree he could use another year, but he will probably go in the first round and make a ton of dough. He has played really well the last 3 games. He will probably look good in the final two games. I just can't see any of these guys staying.

Next coach will be starting over (again). lose a few OL, QB, our best WR's and the D sucks. Another rebuilding process...
