says the guy who can't spell PAID lol jk...He would make more in one year in the nfl than most make in an entire career using his education
Make more in a YEAR than most people with a good education make in their entire career???
LMAO!
You're obviously young and don't know how things work my friend.
1...There's a new payscale in the NFL for rookies so they do NOT get the HUGE $$$ on their 1st contract like they used to get.
2...Then you subtract all the $$$ that their agent gets.
3...Then you subtract about 50% for all the taxes that have to pay.
4...Bottom line is that if a NFL player gets a contract for $1 Million per year he'll do well to actually take home $400,000. per year and the facts are proven that most NFL players are clueless on how to manage/invest money and most are BROKE very soon after their playing days are over.
Vince Young won a National Championship for Texas, was a hero in Texas and a HUGE name in football.
He made several Million $$$ just for the ads he did, endorsements, ect, ect and made over $30 Million for being a total BUST for the Titans.
Today he's BROKE, totally bankrupt and has lawsuits against him to repay Millions of $$$ he borrowed.
If he had a real education and a brain and was mature at all he should have enough $$$ to be set for life but instead he's BROKE like most Pro ball players end up unfortunately.
I agree that our Vols are going to lose alot of guys after this season and that next season probably won't be very good and many on here will start hating our new coaches.
Leaving early for the NFL is actually a dumb move for many kids because they'll LOSE tons of $$$$ on their 1st NFL contract by getting drafted much lower than they could have if they had stayed in college for an extra year.
What's really sad is that most kids in the NFL will never see a 2nd contract come their way and if they do it's for minimum $$$ to be a backup.
It all sounds great when somebody gets a $50 Million contract but most will never take home 1/2 of that amount and then most will spend it stupidly and end up broke.
Many thousands of kids play in high school...drops down to several thousand play in college...drops down to less than 2,000 play in the NFL and for many of those guys there's a couple of hundred every year that get replaced and will never play again.
It's rare that many guys leave the NFL with a small percentage of all the money they collected are are sound financially the rest of their lives and that's very sad indeed.
VFL...GBO!!!
