I get your point, but let's just be honest and let's just be real. There is NO game plan to execute. All Holly want is for the ball to get inside. Players will get frustrated because they can sense the coach is in over her head. It's also a different story when it is said coaches are sitting down with recruits showing film on how the Lady Vols lack fundamentals, players aren't getting developed and Tennessee runs no offense. This all leads to poor coaching. No one can identify what offense Tennessee runs. Even Kim Mulkey got on national TV a few years ago during a half-time interview and stated that Tennessee runs no offense. They're basically playing street ball. Yes, the players have a part to play, but coaching is the main issue as to why this program is sinking. Holly is not head coach material and it is what it is.
Why should a coach HAVE to motivate their players. The players are here to play for the university and get an education. That is their job. Holly doesn't throw the ball away, shoot sh_tty shots, or make bad passes. That's on the players. They should be up for the NEXT game, regardless of who it is. Holly can plan for a game till the cows come home, but ultimately, it is on the players to execute..they are the ones with all the skills.

Because that is what good coaches have to do. It is ludicrous to believe that a coach can simply recruite players and tell them you are receiving a free education so go out there and get motivated. I coached for several years, as well as helped hire several head coaches and motivation was one of the expectations. It is even more essential at the college level. You are taking a bunch of kids who where high school stars and all big women/men on campus. You have to take these individuals and motivate them to keep the same playing intensity while playing and sharing with other lack stars. You have to motivate high school stars to accept their place as none starters but willing to come in as needed and put it all out on the court. You have to be a coach, motivator, parent, counselor and a psychologist. Anything less and your chances of being a successful coach is highly unlikely. On coaching selection committeess I served on, if a coach confessed that it was not his job to motivate, he had a snowball's chance in a microwave of being selected.
