If think he and Chad Lunsfordat at Southern would be on the list.

I think they might bite the bullet though and get away from the option.

They should get away from the option. They are in one the best places to recruit in the country and can’t get the big time players because nobody thinks they can get to the nfl in that system.

I'd add Ken Niumatalolo from Navy as well if they stick with the option.

If they decide to get away from the option and not replace it with another gimmick offense, that would need to coincide with some sort of institutional commitment to really improve the football program/devote more resources to it. Given their current level of commitment to football, winning 58% of their games both overall and in conference play over the last 11 years isn't too bad. I think running a tricky offense to defend has a lot to do with that. If they want to go more conventional, they need help from their admin to compete on that playing field.

I've always thought Tech was a school that could be better at football if they wanted to go for it but it is a risk and a risk that I don't think their admin wants to take. Great location for recruiting, strong academically (both a help and a hindrance), and they do have some history and tradition.

One of my favorite stats to rattle off, especially to a Dawg fan, is that Georgia Tech has a more recent national title than Georgia. :)

Crazier things have happened...would be a nice landing spot once away from AU.

They could stay in the city and see if Sarkisian would be interested. Would be ugrade at Georgia Tech and the Falcons would probably be relieved to move in a different direction.

if they replace him with a non option coach they are going to have a rough time next season. no real QB, WRs, no one used to catching or pass blocking, or normal blocking at all.
