They actually grow more peaches in South Carolina than in Georgia. Also, the artcle said it has been the Peach Bowl since 1968. That's not exactly a long history.

South Carolina is not known as the Peach State either or have the peach in every souvenir sold in the state. Or have thousands of streets named for peach something or another. Considering that's how long it's been in existence and holding that name, I'd say it's the game's entire history.

It's a second rate bowl and they want to try and move it up to first tier. What's the problem? Sometimes change is a good thing
Also, the peach became the SC state fruit in 1984 while it became the state fruit of GA in 1995. The Peach Bowl should be in SC.

there is no way the "chick-fil-a bowl" will ever be a first tier bowl because it is all about the money those other cities make from having the BCS bowls in their town, they are not going to let all of that money leave their cities and it's gonna take a little more than a name change to obtain a BCS bowl in atl. and you have to agree that the majority if not everybody knows georgia as the peach state, thats the whole point of it being called the Peach Bowl. in my opinion the "chick-fil-a bowl" sounds almost as bad as one of those ".com bowls"
