I admit to some surprise by this news. Until everything is settled, I would have thought he'd lay low. Otherwise, he opens himself up to a lot of uncomfortable questions and some criticism from the employer, whoever it might be.

Not saying he wouldn't be good at it. In fact, I can imagine that he'd be really good at it. Just seems soon, politically speaking.

Time is money. If you are not making money then you are spending it. I hope he makes a bundle broadcasting.

I was thinking the same thing

I don't think the " I still love the Vols" is a bunch of P.R. from Bruce. U.T. gave him a chance when no other major program would.

And then he proved that he is the snake that the other programs thought he was and, as a result of that, UT gets to live in the toilet for a while. You'd think that his "love" for UT would include not tanking the program.

Who cares what this assclown is doing to "scrape bye". He ought to stick with what he is good at....building up a program, and then running it so far it to the ground that you pray for the Houston era. What a jackass.

He really lucked out with Tobias going to Milwaukee. He'll get to watch the only fruit he ever beared to the NBA grow. Who would have thought he'd only recruit one NBA player?

I'd like to see him opposite Dick Vitale, you know they don't like each other, would be entertaining.

If you think Pearl left the program in worst shape then Houston, then you apparently dont remember the Houston era very well

Like BP, or not, his charismatic, energetic, jovial, quick witted style should serve him very well.

True, but if you really want your $$$ worth how about a threesome of Knight, Vitale, & Pearl? Talk about TV (combustible ) entertainment...

Good point. I think I would like to see Knight, Boeheim, and Pearl at some point in the future.

Some coaches I could just picture calling games. Pearl isn't one of them. I agree, after this recent fiasco, I'm surprised he's putting himself out there like this.
