Exactly. I don't understand the point of Pearl calling an impromptu press conference to give his take on the Tourney expansion. Seems stupid to me.

Let me get this straight just so I'm sure...we are supposed to whine when the basketball coach calls a press conference to comment on something that may or may not happen, but we are also supposed to whine when the football coach doesn't call a daily press conference to say that practice went well. Is that it?

Funny, I don't remember mentioning anything about Dooley's lack of press conferences.

He had a press conference to discuss the expansion--his views and the 2010 recruiting class. He says recruiting is over for this year, except there could be a possible transfer out there. Apparently there are now 180 players across the country in transfer status, so who knows? He also discussed the many transfers occurring due to NCAA rules that limit contact with recruits and results in kids going to schools where they really don't fit and coaches don't have adequate time to evaluate and get to know them.

I think it's to squish any rumors that he and Coach Summit have been secretly dating for the past few months and are considering tying the knot.......:eek:
