...at the COI meeting today. Thoughts? Does the fact that he --at least publicly-- still loves UT mean that Pearl is at least a repentant individual? It seems to me that a jerk wouldn't care what we thought of him now. There is no reason for him to suck up. There is no one left to sell the "used cars" to. IMO, the case against Pearl's character here on VolNation has been completely overstated. Kind of makes me sad that he is still wearing the orange with pride. But, perhaps, maybe that's what he's going for.

Tressel still loves OSU too. dont forget....UT didnt do anything to harm BPs career. BP affected BPs career. No reason for him to be mad at anybody but himself.

Think of it as a sign from Bruce that he appreciates the ongoing support from Vol Nation.

IMO, it's a bit of both love for the program and being a manipulator. In Pearl's defense, I can honestly say I believe he gave his all for the program and truly embraced his position. At the same time, he knew wearing the suspenders would make a lot of people happy and spawn discussions just like this. I guess you can just call it like you see it.

I'm sure UT loved it. As they try to argue that they cut all ties with the rule breakers, Pearl walks in with orange suspenders and an orange tie.

My question is, how many people (i.e. Vol fans) will appreciate what Bruce did for the men's basketball program? Will UT ever find anyone else as good?

I think the AA knows the difference between current and former staff memebers. That said, I kinda like that ol' Brucey has the stones to sport the colors. After all its his @ss on the line ...even more so than UT. Yes on different scales but UT will go on...BP may not.

Bruce was not only a coach, but a true UT fan. God speed CBP. Now to clean up from this mess you contributed to.

We may just have one just as good (maybe better) with honesty and integrity built in in the position now.

I like it. The man bled orange for 6 years and evidently still does.

Well said guys. CBP understands that Tennessee gave him the opportunity of a lifetime. He also understands that he took that opportunity and ran with it. But finally, he understands that he is the only one to blame for his actions. You don't hear him trying to shift blame like someone else there is.

Ab-so-lutely. Winner.

What's wrong with his post? It's the first thing I thought when I read a tweet about this yesterday too.

Tennessee doesn't dress Pearl up and Pearl owns a bunch of orange. Anyone who thinks a school would be connected to someone based on what they wear has a few screws loose. Do you know how many people wear University of Tennessee shirts that haven't attended UT? When I see someone wearing a school shirt or school colors, my first thought isn't "They must have attended that school". My first thought is "They're a fan". Bruce Pearl is a Tennessee fan... big deal. To make the assumption he still has ties to the school based on what he wears is dumb. It's freaking clothes...
