Well people thought the rumors of Kiffin to USC were ridiculous too but we all know how that turned out.

I think he's just complimenting a school that helped him out a lot. Iowa is no where close to UT on facilities or funding. I just don't think there is any serious consideration from CBP for that job.

I think Bruce is just trying to get Iowa to look at some of his assistants like Tony Jones and Steve Forbes.

In the context of the interview I think he was just trying to stump for the position at Iowa, just trying to advocate the attractiveness of the job. I think CBP is perfectly happy where he is and I seriously doubt he wants to go anywhere else considering the support he has at UT both from the fans and the university.

He just said it was an attractive job NATIONALLY. I interpret that as saying its a big name coaching job, not that he wanted to go.

They might get Forbes but they aren't getting Pearl.

Currently, I've heard that Brian Gregory of Dayton is on the top of their list.

hey fellows i looked on espn and in the rumor section the headline says pearl turns down iowa... but assistant is another story??? im not a insider so i cant read it ....

Didn't Pearl on Monday state on sportstalk pretty clearly "I'm not concerned about a raise and I'm not leaving"

And yes I know people leave when they say they won't, but the PC answer would have been "I'm not talking about anything but TN and the national championship right now"

Since he built the facilities here and is responsible for the funding, can’t he do the same there? :)

Bruce should get a raise after this season. Whoever does his scouting and game prep is phenominal and would hate to see them leave. Haven't he and Tony Jones been together for many years?

Doubtful. I don't think they have the same financial support that UT has. Also, Bruce is very tired after building the facilities here brick by brick.
