Forgive (and delete) if this has already been posted, but Katz' questions brought to fore a few interesting nuggets:

(1) [regarding secondary violation for bump] Pearl intends to challenge something about the alleged violation. Maybe that it wasn't reported? Would that matter much??

(2) Pearl also believes that "the good outweighs the bad". Not sure that is a universal feeling at this point, but you could make an argument for it.

"Good outweighs the bad"? That's a reach considering the potential damage his lying will have on our future. Time for him to go.

If he knew they were evaluating before the SEC tournament then why did he say it was a shock that he went public with this info? For the fans sake? Obviously he and the team knew about this, right?

BTW, thanks for posting.

I believe the good outweighs the bad with Pearl. If he leaves now. If we try to hold on through a suspension instead of moving on, the bad may well outweigh the good.

Tennessee has really never mattered in mens basketball. We get Pearl and start doing pretty well and everyone is a fan.He makes a mistake and now he must be fired. We as fans should stand behind him.If Tennessee fires Pearl it would be a big mistake and I hope Tennessee sucks at basketball for a long time.

also .. there are those on this forum that will kindly remind you that TN basketball was sucessful before. (they just want you to believe that it doesn't matter that it was in 1912) :loco:

Im not a bandwagon fan.We as fans should realize we got a good coach. It you as fans that wont him gone because of a mistake and dont care about Tennessee basketball. When he was doing all these great things for Tennessee it was yall that thought he was the greatest thing ever. I have enough commen sense to realize that Pearl can take Tennessee alot further in the future.

the potential damage his lying will have on our future.

lmao, what future?

You act like there's a huge pipeline pooping out players right in our lap and that this single indiscretion is going to jeopardize that. Really, you're flattering us. We're not North Carolina. We don't nave a basketball legacy to "ruin".

Whether Pearl is fired on Monday or next year is going to have very little effect on our 5-year trajectory. The only thing we have to ask ourselves is "Do we REALLY want to let go of a coach whose taken us to 6 straight NCAA tournaments" or can we stomach 1 year of recovery (coupled with scrutiny) and see how Pearl reacts to his first failed year.

Because once Pearl goes, we're not going to get a coach of his caliber for at least another 5 years.

Don't worry we all get carried away and say things we really don't mean. I know if you are a true Vol fan you feel bad about what is happening at the program now but I don't believe you really mean it. Take care.
GO VOLS!

Sadly the good never outweighs the bad. Especially with most of these cast the first stone back woods UT fans.

So football has sucked for a decade and you stick with them yet you're dropping your "support" of the basketball?

Seriously go root for Bama, no one claims you as a Vol fan and when you try to come back you'll be called out for the fraud yoy are.

So true fans can cheer against one of their teams as long as they cheer for the other?

I think we had a couple chances to go to BCS game this past decade.Im standing by the coach we got now in basketball.I think that makes me a pretty good fan.You so called fans with these 1,000 and 1,000 post know so much and loved Pearl when you thought he was doing good for Tennessee. The one reason I dont care about basketball is because of the fair weather fans. What kind of VOL fan would ever tell someone to pull for BAMA.

A pretty good fan of the coach. If you'll stop following the team when he's gone, you're not much of a fan of the team.

The one reason I dont care about basketball is because of the fair weather fans.

Like you?

No, fans don't put coaches ahead of the university.
