By the Gameday crew.

Jay Bilas seems to have a pretty solid view on the situation.

Pearl is getting it worse than anyone I have seen. No one ripped Jim Tressell for letting the suspended players play in the sugar bowl, which is ridiculous in my opinion.

This is simply not true. Everyone thought it completely hypocritical of him and the NCAA. It's also a completely different situation. Tressell didn't break the rules, Pearl did.

In all fairness, Jay ripped all parties involved. Which at this point is a fair assessment.

WOW! If this is how they react to a cookout, wonder what their opinions of Cam's $200K would be. Bilas would want the electric chair for Auburn coaching staff and Administration.

Have you watched or listen to any sports talk?

It's not the violation, it's the lying.

It pisses me off that everyone talks about how the NCAA expects its players and coaches to have integrity but Cam Newton got off scott free and no one seems to care.

Pearl=Anti-Christ according to ESPN. The part that annoys me about Bilas is he is from DUKE!!!! That is an elite job. UT BB before Pearl in recent times=Life support. I don't like that BP lied but I'm not as outraged as these talking heads considering all that he has done for the program. It would take a lot to fire the guy for me. Sorry BB elite talking heads.

I agree that Pearl lied and then came clean. My point is that it will come out that Auburn lied and did not come clean. The Auburn situation is going to be a much bigger issue when the truth comes out!

The AA has always been, and always will be a jackass group.

Doesn't mean UT has to adhere to keeping frauds like Pearl.

I'll promise you Bilas, albeit a Duke homer, knows a bit about class.

But that has nothing to do with Bruce Pearl and UT.

I like Pearl but once the NCAA comes down with the punishment I'm afraid it will be so bad he will get fired and most people will end up hating him anyway.

If I was the AD at Duke or UNC and BP was the coach I probably fire him because of the history of the program and the ability to hire an elite coach, BUT the people with power at UT have shown us they only know how to hire clowns when it comes to BB. They got lucky with Pearl. If something else comes out I would fire him. College BB is so dirty and coaches they suck up to cheat at different levels. It's all ridiculous.

What does Jay Bilas being a former Duke player have to do with him now being an analyst and bashing everyone involved because Bruce Pearl lied to the NCAA? If K lied to the NCAA, he'd be getting his too.

It has to do with the inconsistency of the NCAA in these cheating matters. The reason they didn't come down on Auburn or Ohio State is that it would cost them bowl game revenues in the form of loss of interest that would effect the TV ratings. So they have made BP their scapegoat IMHO.
