"Knoxville Police Department spokesman Darrell DeBusk told CBSSports.com by phone that the players were in a rental car at the time of their arrest. He said it's unclear who rented the car, but that finding out would "be part of the ongoing investigation." This development is of special concern to Tennessee because it could mean NCAA problems if it's determined that the players were using the car in a way that doesn't comply with NCAA regulations about extra benefits. I am about to have a heart attack if someone does not get Kiffin and Pearl in a room and tell them that if they don't quit the crap, they are gone. Both of them have made our university look like Miami over the last year. People need to stop giving Kiffin praise for his mouth and being ecstatic about getting us violations. Nothing funny, or good comes from it. It makes us look like a bunch of idiots. Pearl just needs to be gone all together. IMO, they both are more trouble than they are worth. the NCAA is going to have our way with us eventually. It's coming. Matter of time. And Kiffin, Pearl, and Phil are going to run off and have nothing attached to them.

Bruce said the other day that he wanted to cut the rotation to 9. I think these four butt-heads :crazy: just took care of that for him.

Geez man (lame joke to start my rant), calm down. Pearl didn't give them the gun and ask them to sell his marijuana and I doubt Kiffin showed Richardson and Edwards how to properly open their wallets when asking for money while holding a pellet gun. And, look at every school in America with young men - guess what, young men do stupid things.

I don't think our coaches are making us look like idiots - it might be comments that resemble the one you just spouted out.

what are you talking about? do you think pearl knew in advance? how many times has those guys gotten in trouble? none. do they have a track record? no. dude you need to relax and pull your head out of your a$$. pearl has kicked a bunch of people off the team and he'll kick these guys off too.

it's a shame that these guy don't care enough about the university, they need to go. but don't say that kiffin and pearl know about what these players do in the privacy in their dorms..

Very well said joevol, nice to see a voice of reason here, they're in short supply...No way a coach can be responsible for these knuckleheads 24/7. Now, if it becomes a recurring problem, that's a different story. He will judge when all the facts are gathered....

They need to be kicked off the team. There's no reason for any of them to be drinking while driving or carrying a gun or smoking marijuana during the season (or anytime for that matter).

I know we'd miss Smith and Tatum but we don't need that type of behavior (or that type of press) at UT. Screw them, they let us down.

And I'm sure that is exacty what will happen. You cant just bunch them all into what happened. There may have been innocent bystanders involved. Wait and see on that.

Oh I definitely agree. And I'm hoping he will. You can't hold someone accountable until after they've done something. Well, the kids have already done something so now they're just waiting to make sure they get everything straight and then administer the disciplinary actions. I just so happen to think every one of them should be dismissed from the team, regardless of the charges being misdemeanors or not - we shouldn't have any room on our teams for stupidity and I don't care how good you are in your respective sport.

They did let themselves down, but they also let their team, their families, and their supporters down. The same people who support their scholarships by going to their games. I want them to succeed and it really is sad to see our players throw so much away and hit a road block in the much more important game called "life" because of stupidity. I care that they succeed and not just in basketball.
