I can't even think of the last time Kansas finished some place other than 1st in the Big 12.

Selby did not go to Kentucky for the KY/FL game today per ESPN recruiting page. I don't pay for the service but that was the headliner.

Difference being that Kansas consistently reloads their team after losing players to the NBA, unlike UNC and UCLA.

Ridiculous to say UNC doesnt reload. Yes they had a down year, but look at the history. Nobody will take you serious with statements like that.

Oh come on now. IF this was a kid that wanted to go somewhere else, but his mom wanted him to play for TN people would be saying the kid needs to listen to his mom. lol But nah, seriously... if you had a kid, u would give him some input to... and u would also hope they listen to you for a bit. I mean his mom probably has concerns wether misinformed or not about the number of players that have gotten kicked off for drug related matters the last couple of years. I don't think that makes her a bad parent just b/c she may not want her son to go to that. As a vol fan... I certainly hope she is willing to come look at TN w/ her son w/ an open mind if he wants to come here... but I at least understand her concern as a parent.

Yeah, just think too if he goes to UK he wont even have to take his tests because a Calipari coached team always gets that perk and meeting with World Wide Wes you probably have a possible shoe deal in the works with Nike before you even leave school, so having UK in her sons top 3 is really indicative that a coaching staffs character really matters. Rememeber folks we all know that low Down Bruce Pearl kicked off his best player, suspended 3 others and only beat #1 and #2 in the country. Wow, she really should be concerned with that . If that is her motive it sure sounds like her concern is legit but that is only If her son smokes weed and is too dumb to pass the requried exams to qualify or stay eligible........................This myth is Busted!!!

History sure helped them this year, didn't it

UNC didn't reload in last year's recruiting class to the point where they could compensate for the losses of Hansborough, Danny Green, Lawson, et al, a problem which should be remedied with this upcoming recruiting class. That was the point that I intended to make.

It was said that Kansas consistently reloads because - they are Kansas. Kansas is likely to lose Collins, Henry, and Aldrich but they are still expected to be legitimate title contenders just because they are Kansas!? They are always title contenders! The same could have been said about UNC

Almost always. Seriously, how many time over the last 20 years has Kansas not been a legitimate title threat?

That is exactly why Kansas consistently reloads.

it's the same as saying that UNC consistently reloads and should always be a title contender... look at them this year. Kansas loses a lot next year, so I wouldn't say they will automatically be a National Title favorite just because their name is Kansas. You might actually want to take a look and see who will be on their team, and what other teams in the country will look like too.

more than you think, apparently.

in a span of 8 years from '94 to '01 they only made the elite 8 once. and 3 of those years they didn't make it passed the 2nd round.

then in 05 and 06 they had first round losses to Bucknell and Bradley.

So saying they are national title favorites every year because their name is Kansas is a little bit of an exaggeration.

Kansas was ridiculed as an underachieving program for the better part of two decades... deservedly so. Heck, Roy Williams and Bruce Pearl are right on par at the same points in their careers. With the notable exception that the Big 8 was a much weaker conference than the SEC until expansion.
