There is a reason next to no schools offered him a scholarship and he is getting significant playing time on a top 25 team. It's not because he is big, fast or strong.

Notice his minutes shrunk when Hopson started showing a resemblance of hustle and toughness.

I've noticed Pearl is always sitting by and talking to McBee.

I could be wrong but I've just thought that McBee probably has a high basketball IQ and Pearl is kind of teaching him the ropes of being a coach. Like a graduate assistant or something. That and it also helps when you have a player on the court that thinks like the coach. Just my opinion/guess.

Hey, stereotypes exist for a reason - because they are at least somewhat true (obviously not for everyone, but enough for the stereotype to exist in the first place). Why do you think most of us are getting a chuckle out of this thread?

I was wondering the same thing though watching Pearl chew on him. Other than making the (very) occasional 3 point shot, I don't really know what else McBee brings except for a body on the court to give someone a rest.

That said, of the walk-ons who have gotten playing time, I am a HUGE Steve Pearl fan, especially of late.

i thought it was quite funny myself everyone one needs a good butt chewing every now and then and mcbee definatly deserved it the other night... the second time he went off while skylar was on the bench though i dont think it was directed towards him completely my high school coach did the same thing he would go off and itd look like he was chewing one person but it was directed towards everyone
