I just listened to Coach Pearls post game comments from his radio show at UT Sports.

To summarize:

1. Embarrased and Disappointed.
2. It was the perfect storm. USC packed it in and we could shoot the 3 ball.
3. Players didn't step up.
4. Had no scout on Gerrity.
5. One assist from the PG position.
6. They exposed alot of things on us.
7. Tyler is pressing and is not confident shooting the 3.
8. Comedy of errors.
9. May not even show the film to the players. Need to move on.

Ah, the infamous perfect storm. An unfortunate choice of words on Pearl's part. (If that is indeed a quote.)

any comments about our guys not knowing how to block out? Also, how was Tyler pressing when he had 1 shot the whole 1st half (not sure what he did in the 2nd since I turned it off)

He could have just said "We got our butt's kicked by a team that had no business beating us"

No scout on Gerrity? This is the third different D-I team he's played for. If you didn't have info on him, it's because you were too lazy to do your homework.

yes shouldve gone back 2 years and seen the film of what he COULD do.
the guy played game of his life his first game back and we had no one with any desire to stop him at all.
when we did have helpside he made perfect passes

It's amazing how many players have the "game of their life" against the Vols.

I'd say it's beyond coincidence by now.

You're killing me man, please keep posting. It's funny. I highly doubt his first game from a YEAR AND A HALF layoff is the game of his life.

He had the game of his life much like Matt Mauch did against a Chavis-led Defense.

Our lack of D helped him have such a great day.

Haha perfect passes. HATINGBAMA, what in the heck do you think John Wall is going to do to us? You're beyond helping. I bet you're a great coach for the Bearden Girl's JV basketball team.

Never thought of it that way. Great comparison.

They weren't sure he was going to be eligible to play.

Same old story Coach Pearl. You have guys who are underachievers and can't play a lick of defense. No sense of urgency in the first half. Started to play with a very small sense of urgency in the second half. Coach, you need to light a fire under their buttocks. What happened to your coaching from the first couple of years when you didn't take any excuses from your players? You had less talent but more heart from the early players.

Careful guys....Pearl might read these comments and get his feelings hurt again. Or Steven will call us out on his Facebook page.

Pearl also said in his comments before the game he told Tyler Smith he needed to shoot the 3 more.

That's brilliant.
