Pearls comments on the game

No scout on Gerrity? This is the third different D-I team he's played for. If you didn't have info on him, it's because you were too lazy to do your homework.

What scout? What homework?

"Melvin, Bobby, see that white kid? Get in front of him, stay in front of him."

It ain't rocket science.

This is the same team that got roasted by every semi-decent guard they played last year. I can't say I'm not happy about it, but I'm not at all surprised they are getting roasted again.

Much more disappointing to me is our complete lack of ability to run anything that looks remotely like an offensive set, or to put together a defensive effort for more than about 8 seconds per posession. These guys are a year older, but I don't see anything that makes me think they are any better, either individually or as a team, and that is just sad.

What do you think Kansas,Kentucky, etc is going to do to us if that was just a bad game. We dont stand a chance with our so called good game. There is no reason we should not beat a cupcake team like usc on even our worst day.Pearls judgement is coming real quick with Sec play not that far off.

don't you dare blame that on the coach though. or some toothless wonder will come running in with the "it's just one game, besides we dumb rednecks can't get no bedder dan Pearl....." how many Vol Callers do we have on this forum anyway?

Yes, we played a horrible game. No excuses. But for you losers to bail on CBP after one really bad game..... well the real joke in this is you as Vol fans. You can be a fan and criticize but you are ready to get rid of the most successful coach in our school's history after one bad game.

Shame on you all!!

Ray Mears and John Mauer might have something to say about that.

And no, I don't think the "realists" among us are bailing after "one really bad game." We're just waiting on Brucy to win a tournament (pre-season, SEC, or NCAA will do at this point).

Losing to a team as inept as USC -- especially in the manner it happened -- is the culmination of the Pearl Era.

If you're happy with beating up on inferior opponents and early exits from tournaments, then, by all means, clap on.

The sad thing is that I like Pearl's energy and personality -- and want him to be successful here. Nothing I've seen so far indicates that he will lead us to elite status.

Obviously no one did any home work on this game. There was no focus and we were completly unprepared. Unfortunate that we were never able to pick up that we couldn't guard him 30 feet from the basket, but never changed our approach. Truly an embarassing loss and a loss that will be difficult to overcome.
