I'm all for the freedom to pursue your dreams. I hope to write a novel some day. But it's morally wrong for me to expect society to carry part of my personal responsibility so that I can pursue a passion. We can't afford for everyone to start trying to pursue their art or hobby on a full time basis. I mean, think about it. It's a fantasy, and ridiculous that a government official doesn't have the sense to see that this is a flawed and superfluous line of policy.

Government has transcended government in this modern age, and gone back into the business of playing God- just in a new way.

So everyone disagreeing with that statement is against the "Freedom" to have that choice.

The notion of freedom is more about some human entity (persons/government) preventing one from taking some action.

WRT healthcare costs, it's really nature (we get ill) that is preventing someone from doing something. Because we get ill and are unable to solve the problem ourselves we rely on others to do something for us.

To provide someone with "free" healthcare means that someone else is being forced to pay for that healthcare.

In this case, freedom is a zero-sum game. "Free" heathcare is not a right nor does it create a net increase in freedom.
