We weren't questioning Bush's patriotism by trying to paint him as a terrorist sympathizer or a radical Muslim with those.
Seriously? How is equating Bush and Hitler not questioning his patriotism? How is suggesting he's simply making decisions to benefit his oil buddies not questioning his patriotism?
Truth be told, the vitriolic hyperbole about Bush far outweighs what I've seen about Obama to date. Maybe if Obama wins, this will change (I'm not hoping for either of these outcomes BTW).

OWB thinks that any mention of Barack's middle name is somehow divisive and automatically detracts from the legitimacy of a particular point being made about him.
The point though is why do you even have to go there? Here's a thread with Nancy Pelosi making her 1,657th nutjob statement. It's stupidity stands on it's own without making some dumb reference to Obama's middle name.
Depends on what you are talking about....... he single handedly destroyed the German Military.

No one was analogizing Bush to Hitler in terms of patriotism. The comparison was being made in terms of Hitler's poor military strategies in Europe in WW II and Bush's decisions in Iraq. Don't make it seem like any of us is saying Bush is like Hitler in any moral way -- just saying they arguably have a similar shortcoming in the way they wage war. (And by the way, the more I think about it, the more I think the analogy is a poor one since I really think Bush has not micromanaged Iraq in any way comparable to the way that Hitler insisted on directing his war.)
As to your other comment, I personally know very few people who engage in vitriolic hyperbole when it comes to Bush. Sure, there are some ultra-leftist nutballs out there who say horrible things about him, but most mainstream folks who are tired of this administration are anti-Bush because he's done such a poor job of running the country, not because of ideology.
A friend of mine -- a Republican by the way -- said it best to me the other day. She said, "I just cringe every time he (Bush) starts to speak." She feels that Bush's incompetence has single-handedly handed the Congress to the Democrats and further that everytime he speaks, he's just about guaranteed to make a fool of himself even further, and to just add fuel to the fire. She says that she just wants him off the stage as soon as possible.
