Pelosi's spending.

Hey joe, in all seriousness, what do you think of the general notion that reducing the number of children born to poorer people would reduce the demand on states and the feds in terms of funding the entitlements and education? Its an interesting delimena because on the one hand certain branches of political conservatives would presumably be repulsed by this thought based on religious grounds, while fiscal conservatives are frequently heard complaining about the demands placed on the tax coffers by Welfare mothers.

Not the first time religious conservatives run afoul of some other group of conservatives. Capital punishment and the right to life folks don't always see eye-to-eye either.

China punishes people for more than one child. Their infanticide rate is horrific.

I could see Obama, Pelosi, and Reid trying to pattern our society after a communist nation. That seems to be their agenda.

DRUDGE FLASH 2009®: PELOSI SAYS BIRTH CONTROL WILL HELP ECONOMY

more spending. i can see how this is going to be great. why doesn't she just demand a 2 child limit and 1 child limit for minorities? how pathetic can libs be?

The theory behind this was discussed in the book Freakenomics,

"unwanted children" are more likely to become criminals and that an inverse correlation is observed between the availability of abortion and subsequent crime.

Donohue and Levitt point to the fact that males aged 18 to 24 are most likely to commit crimes. Donohue and Levitt suggest that the absence of unwanted aborted children, following legalization in 1973, led to a reduction in crime 18 years later, starting in 1992 and dropping sharply in 1995.

The authors argue that states that had abortion legalized earlier and more widespread should have the earliest reductions in crime. Donohue and Levitt's study indicates that this indeed has happened: Alaska, California, Hawaii, New York, and Washington experienced steeper drops in crime, and had legalized abortion before Roe v. Wade. Finally, studies in Canada and Australia have purported to established a correlation between legalized abortion and crime reduction.[3]
